Trying our New Inflatable Kayak, a Day Trip to Coos Bay & Checking out Yachats Brewing

In today's video, we test out our new inflatable kayak from Sea Eagle. We ended up getting a Sea Eagle 370 after chatting with our friends Steve and Tess, of The More We Explore, who are sponsored by them and really love their products. We have never used an inflatable kayak before so it's a learning process but the instructions were great and we had a good maiden voyage (it was too windy to go far).
Next, we travel down to Coos Bay, get some lunch and explore the waterfront area which was very educational and cool before heading into Yachats for brunch at Yachats Brewing which was an amazing place. They make a lot of their own gourmet food products, serve amazing food, and have an awesome beer and kombucha menu. We highly recommend!

So fun! I've got to visit that restaurant... With fermented foods! Awesome! Mike and I are going to get the Sea Eagle 9. We were looking at the Kayaks but decided we wanted something a little bigger with a small motor so we can explore Lake Powell more. You guys will get the hang of paddling together.

We just took our Sea Eagle Paddleski on it's maiden voyage! So far we're very happy with it, but my husband was unable to try it due to illness, so I took it out with some friends - some rather petite friends. My husband is better, so hopefully this coming week we can try it again. Btw, not bothered at all by your recent videos. Find them all quite enjoyable. Probably because I like the host, hostess, and animal friends! :)

The inflatable tube on the paddle is a great idea. I have a 10ft rigid kayak but I don't want to take the mpg hit due to strapping it on the truck. An inflatable kayak would take care of that problem :-) Before you head out of town it would be great to see any free local camping areas if you anticipate future boondocking in this area.

We didn't find any free camping in the area while we were there. There wasn't any very obvious from our normal resources but there is a lot of national forest land around so I'm sure there is some...somewhere.

My son got me a short, 3 hour live kayaking course last year as a birthday gift. One of the things she mentioned was that if you want to stay married, BUY TWO KAYAKS !!! I see you got the Sea Eagles....was there any inspiration from "The More We Explore"?? Seems I remember them having same brand...Good stuff!! Enjoy your vacation... deserve it!! Later...Terry

Haha if we can live in the Airstream hopefully our marriage can survive the kayak...we shall see. And we did get the advice on Sea Eagle from Steve and Tess. They really recommend the brand.

We have a Sea Eagle Fastrack 385 and Razorlite 385 we take with us on our Airstream outings. We purchased the Fastrack three years ago and the Razorlite about a month ago. I like the Razorlite better as its more efficient.

It's probably just me but I'd never trust something inflatable unless it was an industrial strength like a Dinghy. Glad you guys are having a good time. Astoria is like going back in time a few decades.
