Belated comment on a fun demo. Questions. What are the cables running to/from the back going to/from? For instance one output of rings is patched yet there are two cables into the stereo input of beads?

I considered selling clouds module for beads module but, I'm really not sure if that's a good idea. Beads might be newer, more advanced or better quality, but clouds is a classic module and it's got its own reputation, it's also sought after. If you can keep both, that's probably better. MI said beads replaces clouds, but other people have said different. Beads has a cloud mode. But what about the additional stuff added to the original clouds(the parasite, etc.) I really don't know how to use clouds fully, it has the parasite firmware in it, but after messing around with it it can really sound lush & it doesn't sound to clean and digital (I'm not sure if beads is similar) I used clouds on this little experiment kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3rdpqOJlpdml9E

Lovely patch! Beads takes a little time to warm up to it. But that's how it was with Clouds too. If you know what you're doing, you'll get great results.

This is a 64X and is way deeper . The X versions are deeper than the others i do think that 4MS made a big mistake with the useless shallow PODs👍🏼

Oh, good to know they made deeper PODs. I have the older one that is basically useless for any 2hp, zlob, or any common narrow modules. It was fine when it was only supposed to house my Eloquencer and Data, but it couldn't even do that right with the cable routing.

Rings is going into the dual looping delay. And from there into Beads. I was experimenting with that but didn’t use the DLD in tis patch however the audio is going through it..

Can u describe your patch chain?? Most of it i can see but to beads you are going in stereo, one from Rings and the second input?? where is going clock from marbles? what is modulating time parametr from beads?

Rings is going mono into a DLD for some airy delay and comes out stereo then into beads. Clock is connected to pam’s nw and Batumi is modulating beads. Hope this clears it up🙏🏼

Beautiful sound! Really wonderful work. What are the two little 2hp modules? One is between the Marbles/Rings. The other is between the Intellijel Mixup/Beads. And please excuse my Eurorack amateurish understanding (understatement), is the sound being generated by Beads only? Where are the patch cables going to that are off camera? Thanks!

Hi thanks. The 2hp modules are mults. I don’t use them in this patch. Cables are coming from modulation source and clock and from beads to my main output and then into a daw for recording.O yeah, rings is the sound source and it’s going trough a delay (out of screen) and then into beads.

every time I see one of these cool modular setups I think, oh, that looks fun and cool. Then I do the math on the modules and think that's probably $1500 just for that little strip...sigh..

It might seem like a lot of money at first but it leads to hours and hours of sound exploration and fun and to me, you can't really put a price tag on that. =)

With modular, the price reflects the sound that the user is after. If you drop 1500 dollars on a “complete”, non-modular synth, then sure it may have a couple more voices and effects than its modular counterpart, but the features that make up the 1500 price point are decided by the designer of the synth - not you. Ie, you might end up with “more” features, but were those features you really wanted in the first place?
