Thank you for posting this. I've been looking for an eco-friendly alternative to helium balloons, to release in honor of my 22-yr old son who died in Nov, 2020💔

Excellent explanation and demonstration. You should do more vids telling people how to do even the simplest of things. I'm older and my brain doesn't function like it used to....so this video really helped me to do ours right. We did them for the fourth holiday for the grandkids. Thx again

Can you please show or describe the moment when the chinese latern "disappears"? I mean the last seconds of its presence on the sky untill it is totally gone.Thanks.

It's never totally gone, it becomes someone else's problem to clean up. Its littering.

They are pretty but also very dangerous. I’ve seen where a down draft can drive them into trees causing a forest fire.

These dont go thousands of thousands of feet off the ground. These are mistaken for ufos but there are some lights so high and travel in formation which cannot be explained
@DANDLINC Жыл бұрын
I think they can go several hundred feet. Not 1,000s. Thanks for the comment.

Some time ago i saw a group of people releasing loads of lanterns on the anniversary of thier friend who died. As i got of the bus i looked up at the sky and saw 3 very bright lights. They were of very bright white with a peach colour on the outside, all in a straight row,not moving.There was nobody about to ask 'what is that'. I went into the shop and wanted to say 'come and see this' but knowing my luck they'd have dissapeared .When i came out of the shop the lights were still beaming down.Was it lanterns?

Someone threw some up the other night. Thought we were being invited by ufos! At least 50 of them! And I can't see well! Hahaha!

So, did this continuosly gain elevavation, or did it stop rising and travel about 60 miles per hour across the sky? If you had lite multiples of them and released them at the same time, do you think they would have flown in formation horizontally from wear you released them? Just trying to get your perspective. Thanks

Yeah, we live near an airport too. But I know what planes are and what they sound and look like, I spent 10yrs in the USAF. Unfortunately I really don't know what I saw, I only wish I could see them again, they were quite fascinating! But they were NOT Chinese lanterns.

Saw 4 bright orange balls of light around 1am Monday Morning in Sunnybank, Brisbane, Australia. Definitely too large to be lanterns and the way they moved was in formation then they died out to look like dim orange stars. Out of nowhere another one appeared , intensified in brightness, moved in an unpredictable fashion then followed the same fate as the rest. I was in awe but totally unnerved as well. I guess I'll never know.

@@opheliacomplex78 just saw something very similar last night in Philadelphia and looking for info. Seemed to move at impossible rates and in formation

As a rural resident who often has to remove people's flying trash out of our tree line, I would like to point that that old school flaming flying trash is absolutely not an improvement on modern flying trash.

They are beautiful. I saw dozens of them in the sky tonight. It was a really cool thing to see. Then as I left the area I saw them on the roads. A lot of trash is biodegradable, but it's still someone's trash and when it isn't contained on your own property, its littering and actually a crime. Same as a paper bag from McDonald's only much bigger.
