Hi, I am also new and learning and south african:) apparently you shouldn't let your products sit in molds longer than 25 mins or it starts to sweat. When drying put them on a cake rack to let air circulate fully and ratio is 1 to 2.5. Hope that helps:)

Which sealer do you mean. Have you made any pots if so why do they make plant pot mold if you can’t use them with water, and the soap dishes I’ve made will they be ok

Think you need to send your white jesmonite pieces so that the black shows through also you might consider lacquering them

Tip: Measure your powder in another container and slowly add it into your liquid - less bubbles and less chance of lumps.

hi there. I think you mentioned difficulty with the UV resin? If so it's possible it didn't cure because it needs uv light to penetrate it. So generally it's best to use a see through mould when using uv resin. Hope this helps. Love the contrast with the blue and black. Really classy looking x

Maybe the reaction between the wet jesmonite and the uv resin could react. Maybe next time have to wait at least 7 days before using uv on it. Normal resin I think wouldn't have minded. It may have made a watermark. The same as what it does when the humidity is too high. Love the black.

It’s so good to have a resin newbie who’s making the same mistakes as me, and it’s quiet an expensive hobby. Do you save all your mistakes and use them for terrazzo. What do you use to seal them
@CaylinFourie

I use Krylon sprays to seal everything. The scrap pieces yes, I use for terrazzo 😁

What black pigment did you use? It is such a deep colour but it looked like you only used a small amount of pigment.
@CaylinFourie
@CaylinFourie 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sherry! These pigments are specifically made for acrylic resin. I don’t know the exact name of the pigment to be honest. I bought it from a local craft supplier. These pigments I believe are quite concentrated, so you really don’t need much to get the colour you need.

@@CaylinFourie Standard paint pigment works perfectly. Just check that is it a water based paint pigment (although Oh so resin pigment prices are very reasonable)
