My grandpa has a NH BR740A that always seems to break when needed the most. He bought a used Claas Rollant 66 as a backup. It's been flawless every time he's had to use it. He wishes it had net wrap. My JD 435 is twine only as well.

Daniel Altman all we used to use is twine just the time you save will pay for the net if y'all have never used net the next time you get a baler try it you won't regret it

I have a Claas 350. I ran into net feeding trouble after several years of use. I discovered the problem was that the rubber roll had worn down unevenly so there wasn’t even pressure between the rubber roll and the steel one. The rubber roll was only making good contact in a couple spots causing the net to tear. I was able to correct this by placing the rubber roll into a lathe and sanding it down even. It worked out well

Gregg how did you sand the rubber feed roller evenly? Did you use a special sand paper and a block? I have been fighting mine for years.

@@tylee4839 With the rubber roll spinning in the lathe we used an angle grinder with a fresh flap disc on it. Repeatedly checked the progress with a straight edge yard stick. It worked out surprising well. I cursed myself for not doing it sooner lol.

Thanks for responding. I ended up taking the roller to a rubber roll mill and they did a going on the entire roll for $100. It's amazing how roll is so much softer and it appears it will have more grip. The roll was worn over the entire center section. Will get it back installed this weekend and hopefully it solves all my problems. I originally thought it was all in the pan the net sits in and the tension bar since someone let the baler sit out. Any one have any issues with their monitor. I got a new one without the x10 button but my baler is stuck on x10 so I can't get it to make the correct size bale.

Stuff more net down in beyond rubber roll and it will "grab hold" better on that first bale after new roll of wrap. My dealer recommended that I not install tension springs until roll of wrap is half used. When you are done with that baler try a John Deere. We have a Deere but wanted a cutter baler for cutting straw to add to TMR. If I don't need to cut, then I hook to the Deere.

Ellen Egolf the reason your deere can eat hay faster is because it’s not a crop cutter crop cutters can’t eat hay as fast as a open throat baler if you take a claas without the crop cutter an put it up again that deere it will eat it for lunch

I feel your pain. This is a great baler until it's time to net wrap. Please. Just shoot me now.
