I am finally able to review the New(ish) Black Castor Oil & Chebe line from Camille Rose. I did not pick up all of the products from the line, but that ones that I did pick up are... well you have to watch and see 😉. Is the Black Castor Oil & Chebe line worth a purchase???

The silicones in this product is a synthetic oil form that coats the hair, gives it shine and supports moisture retention. There are different grades of silicones like dimethicone so depending on the molecule size and the grade of silicone and how it is formulated it actually acts as a delivery system to the hair shaft and allows more moisture to get into the follicle. The problem with hair influencers is they are saying stay away from silicones but no one has done research to understand the types of silicones, what they do for the hair and follicle. Millions of people use silicones and if they were bad there would be lawsuits all over the place. I think Camille Rose put in the silicone to assist with the moisture and getting the ingredients to stay in the hair with the coating of the dimethiconol. Please do your research and remember people are just giving their opinion, use google and research for yourself instead of taking peoples word for it because they don't know. Great review! Aww thank you so much and thank you so much for the explanation. My understanding is that excessive use of silicones create a barrier on your hair and may make it hard for all the products to penetrate the strands. And if you don’t clarify every wash day that may be an issue. Like I said I could totally be wrong 😂. Thanks for watching

@@NJEberhart Clarifying shampoos every wash day to get rid of silicones aren’t necessary. You can use a regular sulfate free shampoo. Manes by Mell has a really informative video on it, It helped me a lot. I now am enjoying my products with silicones and retaining a ton of length. I recommend Joico Moisture recovery shampoo and conditioner it’s a good line.

@@NJEberhart you don't necessarily need clarifying shampoos to wash off silicones, you can use normal moisturising shampoos that contain surfactants like cocomidepropyl betaine amongst others which is found in most of the shampoos we use, got this info from a video by Afope Atoyebi, where she explains in details with info backed up by science and research, hope this helped 😄

I honestly don't think silicones are bad. I realized i was so against using certain ingredients until i actually took it upon myself to read up on ingredients and alot of them aren't as bad as people make them. Additionally i feel like if people are going to be concerned with ingredients in hair products they should be concerned with ingredients in everything, skincare food etc. Cause imo it makes no sense being so strict on ingredients with haircare but eat absolutely terrible. Just my opinion. Great results btw. Love your hair

@@NJEberhart silicones, petroleum, mineral oils etc are the best ingredients in skin care depending on how it's formulated especially a sensitive skin. Watch labmuffin and read the beauty brain on these ingredients.

agreed! There are many kinds of grades of silicones and it is used as a delivery system and to maintain moisture, they can be washed out it does not damage the hair. I think people are repeating what they heard without true scientific research. Also, why worry so much about what is going in your hair and not in your body! Love that statement! What we eat affects our hair.... :-)

I am glad you’re doing well. I am disappointed in the use of silicones because usually in most natural hair brands it leads to ingredient changes in more lines. The same with Mielle and the Mane Choice which recently changed all of their ingredients on their website. Hopefully the same doesn’t happen to Camille Rose although their main line never really worked for me. I love the coconut leave in too!!

You have to try the edge control in this collection. My edges were laid for over 12 hours which is great for me. So basically all day. I didn’t expect to like it better than my go-to which is Style Factor’s edge booster.

Yeah, I’m surprised CR formulated a product with non-water soluble -cone. My hair loves the DC but I probably won’t repurchase, especially since I still don’t have all of my Black Friday order with no communication or refund after reaching out.

Hey love. I’m so happy that you’re feeling better. We all caught COVID and started feeling symptoms the day after Christmas. It sucked, but it wasn’t horrific. Your results were on point. Janelle Stephens could kiss my butt. They didn’t pack my Coconut Water Leave-In Conditioner. I tried reaching out to them several times, but they never responded. I had no choice but to file a complaint with The Better Business Bureau. I can’t believe that they’re okay with stealing customers’ money. Dang, they’re worse than Honey’s Handmade. I’m glad you’re feeling better! My husband and I just got over COVID as well and we had to isolate away from our kids. I picked up a deep conditioner from CR and I think it’s the same as the one in this video but I’m not sure. It has pink packaging and it says it’s limited edition for black history month and has artwork on it. I bought it from target but it is not on the website. It looks like your deep conditioner though. Your hair looks amazing. The next time you do a tea is out, can you make a more detailed video where you show the take down and separation? I know you had one in the past but I don’t remember the video. Every time I attempt this style it ends up a fail!

I got the Chebe pre poo, Curl glaze, Ayurvedic pre poo treatment, Honey & hibiscus moisture mask, Super food hair mayonnaise deep conditioner, Curl staple buttercream hair cleanser (with Ambanu +green plants), Chocolat clay wash and Ayurvedic hair gloss treatment. The Ayurvedic hair gloss can also be used as a deep conditioner, which I’m going to use it as, anything that can be used as a deep conditioner, I’m using as that, as I love deep conditioners. I think the Ayurvedic pre poo can also be used as a deep conditioner too. I’m planning on using Neges Banda in my wash day routine this weekend (it’s Saturday here as I type). My hair needs a good detangling, so I can’t wait to see what the Chebe pre poo does! The only thing is , I regret not getting any of their leave ins! I will get those next, so I’ll have pre poos, cleansers, deep conditioners, styler and then the leave in. 😃. I got the products well packaged too, NO spillage! I will keep watching your videos to see what other products I can get 👀👀👀😆😆. Edit: Girl, I have the Chebe pre poo in my hair right now!!! It’s soooooo good! 😩😩😩I kept saying “OMG” as I applied it to my hair. I’m hooked! If has lots of slip and very moisturising. I can see myself buying this over and over! I realized you did the LOC method instead of LCO.. can you explain why this works for ur hair ? What’s ur porosity ?

Hey love ❤️. So when I first went natural, I didn’t know anything and I kept hearing about the LOC method and so I just adopted it and went with it. LOC vs LCO may make a difference for some but for me I can’t really tell the difference on my hair. So I just stick to what I’m used to. I have low porosity hair 😊

I think than silicones aren’t automatically detrimental to the hair, but I think we should think of the environmental impact of washing petroleum, mineral oil, silicones, etc down the drain. I steer mainly clear for environmental reasons, and my scalp itches quicker with silicones.

The Black Friday sale was a nightmare, I ordered 11/26 and had to literally keep calling to catch them on the phone. After many unanswered emails and no response to many phone calls I got any answer and received all of my products within 3 days🤦🏾‍♀️. Horrific customer service experience, I’ll just buy at Sally’s when they have a sale.

I had a similar experience. I was missing 1 item from my Black Friday. After an email, IG comments, and DM's I finally got a response and my last item shipped this week. I love CR products but this experience was disheartening.

I had the same experience with never receiving my products, but honey they were not keeping my money for nothing! They actually sent me another customer’s order and when I tried to contact customer service, I got crickets! Radio silence! No response whatsoever after multiple attempts. So I disputed with my bank and got my money back. Never again Camille Rose!,
