Modern Bazaar pure Indian brand hai. It's owned by retailer Kunaal Kumar. It started in the 80s and their first outlet was in Basant lok, VV. One of Delhi's oldest supermarkets that happened much b4 the Foodhalls, Le Marche, Nature's Basket were even conceived forget being born. In fact way back in the 80s - 90s, it was all about Modern Bazaar, Green Super Market and Nanz. Opened mainly to cater to expats. GSM & nanz died a natural death but MB has thankfully survived.

The process in which smoked water is made is actually quite similar to barrel-aging whiskey, which is maybe not all that surprising. For 10 days, filtered tap water is circulated through loops of piping that have oak chips and oak dust, creating a whiskey-looking non-alcoholic liquid that smells purely of burning wood.
