This was nice! Thank you for sharing. I've eaten snails, too, but not fixed the Filipno way. The snails were prepared the way the French do. French snails are called escargot. They are very large compared to your snails. They are also very garlicky. My grandmother was French-Canadian and Irish, so she sometimes liked to have some French-style food. She prepared the escargot, and shared it with me. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough that I was going to seek it out. But if somebody offered it to me, I wouldn't turn it down. And when Jake sucked on the snail shell, it reminded me of the practice they have in the NOLA area of sucking on the crawdads. Crawdads are kind of like shrimp, but they are much easier to cook and clean, and they have a stronger taste. When you break off the tail, peel it, and eat it, there's a custom that you're supposed to follow. You take the front of the crawdad, place the part where you broke off the tail into your mouth, and "suck out the brains." You'll notice that I used quotation marks there. That's because you're not really sucking out the brains. You're sucking out the the fat, which was liquefied from boiling the crawdads in seasoned water, and the seasonings helped add some flavor to the fat. I've tried it. Like with the escargot, I'm not rushing out to suck out crawdad brains, but if I'm offered some crawdads for a meal, I'm okay with it.

True! Kapag nasupsop mo siya ng isang try lang, nakakatuwa kasi usually di nakukuha agad yan nang isang supsupan lang. Katuwa ka Ate Jess, Ilocanong-Ilocano ka talaga. Pareho tayo kapag umuuwi ako ng province namin sa Cgayan Valley, hinahanap ko rin Ar-arosep saka yang Liddeg. Saka Paku fern. Yummy!

Tama ka, Jess...iponin muna bago kain, para busog... pero nasa pag tanggal sa shell ang thrill. Kung mahilig kayo ng maritesan habang kumakain, tanggal sa shell then subo. Kung hindi kayo ang type na nag dadaldalan sa lamesa, iponin muna, bago subo nalang ng subo. Pag ako kumain ng crab, puro crabs lang. Saw saw sa toyo na may calamansi. Fav ko yang kinakain nyo, tuloy nagugutom ako,😋😋😋 Taga Bicol kc ako at lahat sa gata ang luto namin nyan. Ang mahal kaya ng escargot d2 at sa Europe, d ba?! One serving, bilang na bilang lang. Hindi ka matitinga, 😂 Enjoy ur meal, guys.

Namiss ko po ang suso at tahong, sa amin probinsya ay medyo marami yung sabaw at yung ibang luto namin sa suso ay kikunin namin yung laman ng suso gamit ang arpeler/pangTusok tapos, e-gigisa namin with sibuyas, capsicum, luya, at sili tas ilalagay namin yung suso ni gi-set aside namin. Tapos lalagyan namin ng niyog (grater coconut) hangggang sa maluto na ang niyog tas ayun perfect match. ☺😊😋❤
