You should come to Dobrogea Romania. In Constanta, at Black Sea coast there are comunities of Turks and Tatars along all 17 minorities they live in good harmony aver hundreds of years with Romanians. Besides this you have to visit vilages of Russians lipovani in Danube Delta. It is time for you to relax at the sea and visit the Delta of Danube river. 😊

Nice to see such places exist and trying to keep our traditions alive. That hat is from Ottoman times. Even Ataturk has pictures of himself with similar hats. Here is some info... Kalpak is a type of headgear in the form of an inverted truncated cone, usually made of fur, fabric or leather. It is generally used in Turkey, Caucasus, Iran, Russia and Central Asian countries. Historically, it has been widely used in various Turkish communities. It is usually made of young (small) lambskin. As soon as the lamb is born, a sheath is put on its body. As the lamb grows and its wool gets longer, it becomes curly. This skin is peeled off and a papak is made. Apart from this, sheep and goat skins are also used. Since the estates who came from the South Caucasus and settled in Kars, they used long haired and large parrots made of goat skin, and these papas were usually black in color, so they were called karakalpaks. There is also a sky blue one. There are also Azerbaijan and Dagestan types of them. Dagestan types are slightly more hairy. It is stated that the oldest information about the Kalpak, which is used in many parts of the Turkish World, has been reached in Chinese sources. It is known that the Kalpak is used in many parts of the Turkish world by changing the shape, fabric or leather type: “Kalpak is of course not a headwear unique to the Kyrgyz. Although their shapes are different, it is possible to see the Kalpak in many Turkish tribes such as Kazakh Chuvash, Uzbek, and Black Kalpak. It is known that in history, the Kyrgyz were called Ak Kalpakli, and the people of Karakalpakstan living in Uzbekistan today were called Karakalpaks.

We also have many of these dishes in Romania, in the south-eastern part of the country where there is a Tatar-Turkish community (in Dobrogea). My grandmother from Constanta used to cook certain types of dishes with Tatar-Turkish origins, and i liked a lot. Turkish sweets and food are among the most delicious! I'm already drooling when I think about suberek and giozlomea. ❤😊

Hi Davud, I’m very impressed by this restaurant! The Menu is primarily written in romanian language and it’s also translated in gāgāuzian. The hat you bought it’s actually called “Cushmā” and this is the name of the pancake in a shape of a triangle you eat in the Moldavian restaurant “Cusma lui Gugutā” ☺️ Well...now you enjoyed the sweet pancakes and today you bought the hat used by the shepherd in winter. Fresh bread 🍞 and salt 🧂 is also used to welcome guests in Romania and Moldova...maybe in Bulgaria as well but I’m not sure. Thank you very much for the videoclip. Multumesc frumos! Compot is actually a Latin word, it comes from "compositus" and it's in many languages that were influenced by Latin, including English "compote", so it has nothing to do with Turkish. Just for your information.

I would have liked to see the flag of Moldova next to those of Gagauzia and the European Union. The Gagauz people must be closer and more respectful to the country where they live. Even though they are Christians, Gagauz ppl use many Islamic/Arabic words entered into their vocabulary through the Ottoman branch. They also have a strong Tatar (crimean) influence, being at the confluence of the Crimean Tatar Khanate and the Ottoman Empire. That gozleme looks like it's made from chiborek dough and it looks like it was fried in oil like a chiborek, only it's rectangular in shape and it's with cheese. And we Tatars make chiborek with cheese filling with a little dill.

Gagauz turkic is closer to Azerbaijany rather than Turkish. Same is true for the Crimean tatars. When I had a chance to visit I was suprised that we had no problem understand each other. They don't say "mamnun oldum" they say "Taníşlínğíza şadam" just like we say in Azerbaijan. They also say "Bəli" and "Xeyr" when they try to approve or disapprove something.

Gagauz is almost entirely same with Balkan Turkish sub-dialects whereas Eastern Turkish sub-dialects like Erzurum and Kirkuk sub-dialects have more similarities with Azerbaijani than Gagauz.
