I have a highway 268 popup in my 50mm g372xp. Started with 3 base gaskets, .022" squish. 155 exhaust duration, 160 intake. Took it back apart about a month ago, made base gaskets, set squish at .014". Now have 195 psi compression. Saw is much stronger than stock. The big bore kits, they increased the bore size without increasing the transfer port area. That's the reason the 50mm bore makes more hp than the 52 mm bore.

Yeah most folks frown on the AM 52mm big bore kits and say that OEM 50mm is the only way to go. I've had really good luck with a Hyway BB cylinder (with a pop up piston) that hasn't had any flaking issues but it sounds like I'm def in the minority. Will be interesting to see you put this 372/272 combo up against your 365...

Thanks for commenting again dude! Yeah I really want this to run hard, I think I'll need a better cylinder in the end. Buckins 371 that iron horse built is a ripper so I don't see why it can't be done..

@@walkerscountrylife like everything else, i think if it's done right it'll pay off. Sounds like the key to the plating flaking issue is to slowly trace out your porting lines thru the plating with a diamond burr before hogging out the area...

At idle she has some V8 rumble... great sound... what is your exhaust? Definitely custom 👍😎

Did you get a compression reading with the pop up? Sounds pretty good

Yes I did check it when it was cold again.. it's around 200 🔥🔥

Does this work on the X torq or just OG 372xp ?

Just on the OG, the xtorq is a completely different cylinder, I don't think you can get big bores for that saw. You can convert an xtorq to OG though 👍

Checking squish on the skirt side of the piston is highly inaccurate. Just fyi

👍🆙JW,Go checkout Aaron A Lynch's channel on his 372xp, they are very impressive and I think he was the one that started using the 272 piston in them. His builds are top notch, you're welcome for the future binge watching of Lynch's builds and tell him Doc sent ya!

Hey JW, If you want 2 hear Iron Horse's true colors, the Novice Lumberjack just posted the update on his missing 395. If you'll notice, BBR and Tinman are distancing themselves from the IH and starting 2 advertise RIPSAW. I think this will do Harvey in, they won't be able 2 post any new content without being bombarded with comments and also loss of subscribers. IMO

@@walkerscountrylife this is new, he's trying 2 get his saw back from Harvey and Harvey hasn't sent it back and up coming videos with interviews of people that Harvey has their saws and has not returned them, it's been over 3 years.
