This is an interesting twist on the contrast dressing philosophy or “formula”. A lot of my days, I don’t even have to bring a bag with me when I leave the house which makes this formula a bit tricky in the summer when not a lot of layering is going on, but I’m gonna give it a whirl and see how it plays out. I like these little micro trend type thingies that go around now and again. They’re kinda like a randomizer button for your wardrobe that forces difft combinations that can shake things loose and discover new options or ways of looking at the details of the clothes you already have. Really fun. You came up with pretty excellent fits. I think I comment this every time you showcase them in a video, but seriously, you and bloomers were always meant to be.

While I understand the idea of mixing casual and more elevated pieces (and do so), I think the "formula" is pretty unworkable because most people have more than four pieces in any outfit. The formula I go by (and I'd give credit if I could, but I can't find it again) is 1, 2, 3:: 1 is the base layer (top and pants, top and skirt, dress, or jumpsuit), 2 is the "completer" piece (a layer - vest, jacket, cardigan), 3 is accent pieces (accessories such as shoes, bag, jewelry, scarf, hat). Works every time although sometimes the completer piece is optional (depending on weather).
