Trying to back my 2021 Subaru Outback out in 1’+ fresh snow.

Those don’t look like snow tires. What’s the use of the All Wheel Drive system if you can’t get the power to the ground? A front wheel drive Ford Escape or RAV4 could probably get out of there with snow tires. The car’s doing everything right, you’re doing it wrong.

Some Falken Wildpeak AT Trail tires will get you around very well in snow. They're not super-beefy AT tires, but they do well enough while also being surprisingly quiet on the highway. We had upwards of 20" of snow from two back-to-back storms last year, and I was able to climb steep hills from a complete stop without ever having to use X-Mode. Tires make almost all the difference. :)

@@KeepFeedingMeImStillHungry Unfortunately, dedicated snow tires aren't good all-around tires that offer the best balance of capabilities. This makes them less practical for the majority of drivers who don't live in places that get lots of snow on lots of days of the year. This is where tires like the Falken Wildpeaks come in handy. They can be driven year-round without giving up too much ability in any particular driving condition. Nothing that does everything will ever do any one thing as well as a specialized option, but generalists ultimately make the world go 'round. :)

Definitely was our worst snow storm. Burt we missed them this year, we are up in Montana. And get less snow then you all! lol

Tires are very important. I drove without difficulty in 20 inch of snow with studded Hakkapeliitta tires in Impreza. The only problem was the weight of the snow on the bumper. If the car was higher off the ground, that wouldn't be a problem either.

To be fair, snow tires in the snow help, and most people would shovel the snow somewhat first.

I mean you turn traction control off is like locking the diff 🤷🏽‍♂️ just saying symmetrical, all wheel drive for a reason 2015 Impreza with less than 5 inches of ground clearance and living by lake affect snow never had a problem 🤷🏽‍♂️

Blizzak tires on a Subaru makes it impossible to get stuck unless you are a complete failure of a driver.

Try some new tires….. I am very impressed with my 21 Outback Cooper discovery snow tires. I live in the bush of interior Alaska,only had to use my recovery ramps one time when wind blew 31/2’ drift in driveway. Tires tires tires can’t say it enough
