For dt466e pre 2003 you need a scanner like a nexiq scanner with international 1,2,3, box installed. Go to cals then you'll find governed speed and then just shut it off or set it to 75mph. If you got a dt466 with egr then your need to go to the dealer to reprogram it.

No that's what the program for internationals. The the real early models before the the front mounted ecu/idm the were all separate modules and and had the idm above the engine and 2 modules under the dash. But anyways the it was called 1,2,3, box. Snap on make the scaner its called pro link. This is the link of the software you need. We have mostly C2's here in Alabama and none of them are governed. You can go as fast as the bus can physically go. Great for field trips.

I personally love the look of the older international bluebirds, especially the ones with the split Dayton rims, makes em look more heavy duty and just a lot cooler In my opinion. My local school district, the head mechanic takes the governor off completely and even the older internationals can top out at 70-75 miles an hour. But they just bought the 2016 model IC with the cummins and I think they optioned to have the governor deleted or something. Anyway man keep crankin out the vids

I think the ones with the storage would better suit your needs if your looking to turn it into a party bus, that space would be ideal for components , supplies if needed ect,....

Just remember those 05s will give you emissions headaches down the road with the EGR coolers and EGR valves. But any international can be governed at any speed just have to put it on the computer and program the speed you want in. Or no governor. I turned up a 2003 Ic and that bus ran on the highway at about 85-88 mph!!!

You should be able to hook up a laptop Computer that is set up with the Correct Soft wear to be able to change your road speed on those buses you mentioned that are governed to 55 mph. That DT 466 if set up and geared right will easily get 70 to 75 mph.
