Some of his best books were raw while having questionable lower grade books slabbed. 🤔

Batman 181: A recent online auction I tracked had a raw copy go for $325 and I'd say it was a 4.0 to 4.5 (pretty sure it had the centerfold). Even if it has the centerfold, it's often detached like mine is. Because hey... who wouldn't want a poster of Batman and Robin on your wall when you were 7 or 8?

I wish you would let us know what you paid both in cash and trade. I also believe that a high-grade full set of the Wolverine for issue miniseries would go for about $300 raw. Not $200.

Hey Comics Den, love the channel Quick Question. I have (2) CGC graded Amazing Spider-man 300, a 9.2 direct edition and an 8.5 newsstand edition. I want to sell one and keep one. Which one would you guys keep? I would assume the 9.2, but didn't know if newsstand were more rare? Please help.
@TheComicsDen9 ай бұрын
I would keep the higher grade copy but some collectors really enjoy the newsstand issue so its all about preference.

@Hobbiest342439 ай бұрын
I never understood why comic buyers always ask why you selling or where you got it. Coin guys are where you at on Greysheet bid. Is this a youngster thing?

Guys, where on God’s green earth did you imagine those Shock Suspenstories are worth “$100 a grade”? What people ask and actually worth are two different things all together, and you should know that. You kind of reference it I guess, but your assumption they’re worth $100 a grade is nuts! A 6.0 of issue 3 sold recently for $285, meaning you overpaid slightly for your 5.0. And a CGC 5.5 of issue 2 sold several months ago for $385. Meaning your 4.5 is worth approximately what you paid. Got to do your research before coming to those assessments. Otherwise you’re starting a trade deal from a very disingenuous place.

No he is correct most times you see those graded it’s about $100 a point till you get to 6-7 then it’s even more. Sometimes people get good deals on auctions but those are generally the asking price.
@Comicbookyoutubersrock9 ай бұрын
@@leighwestfall1578There is not a single copy of either of these books that have sold for $100 a grade, ever in existence. They’re not worth even remotely close to that. A grade would start at a 1.0, and a CGC 1.0 of either book would sell anywhere from $30-$50. I get that you’re not experience in comics, but they’re worth what they sell for, not what people ask for them.
