Happy to found your videos! Been struck by glandular fever since Sep 2023 and my physical fitness is gone. Sat on indoor bike yesterday for 15 min on like 100W and felt destroyed after it. It is really tough 😔

I'm sorry to hear that! The only thing you can do is rest. For me it got quite bad, I couldn't drive a car for a while because I couldn't focus for more than 10min at the time. The only thing that helped was resting and then slowly, slowly start training the days I felt good. I read that glandular fever can cause inflammation in different parts of the body and for me I had it in my mouth/gums and I needed antibiotics to get rid of it. I also did a race with the virus still active and with an inflamed liver which probably made it worse for me. It took me nearly 3 years to get back fully. But now I'm happy to say that I'm very close to being as strong as I ever was on the bike. So don't give up! It also depends on how old you are. If you're young you can bounce back faster. I was 29 when I got it which wasn't great. Allow yourself to be tired and rest. Find something fun to do that doesn't require physical activity. Good luck.

Best of luck...regaining health takes the same discipline as training for an IM. You have the basic skill tied to determination. And, that is the most difficult one to obtain... the rest is one step at a time.

You are totally right! Every day is like a short training session. It makes no big difference. But in the end all days together will make the difference. Thanks Joe!

@@andreas-linden If you are trying to maximize your effort and results during a short period of physical activity. I would suggest you look into doing strength training that incorporates whole body vibration with restrictive blood flow technique. You can also use restrictive blood flow technique with easy aerobic activity (running, swimming or biking). Of course, I am assuming you haven't already used these methods. These are commonly used methods in therapy ... and, in many ways that is what you are doing at this stage.

The doctors won't let you have Zwift??
@andreas-linden
@andreas-linden 4 жыл бұрын
Haha, I have to change crankset on my indoor bike to be able to use Zwift. I'll do that soon. But I want to make sure that I'll be able to get back properl first, before I invest in another powermeter :)
@TheDomLouis
@TheDomLouis 4 жыл бұрын
@@andreas-linden I thought you already had a power meter on your bike? A Quark one?? Either way Wahoo Kickr and Tacx Neo both have power metres built in. I think they claim about +-5% accuracy.
