When I saw that new trailer, I thought to myself "with all the trouble Timmy has had with his trailers, this one is so robust he will have zero problems now". Only to see it throw the ball off the hitch like a minute later..doh. Well if something does not go wrong on one of your outings, then were you ever on an outing to begin with? It seems every time you go out and do stuff, something unexpected and unnecessary has to go wrong and mes with you. That you take it in stride is a testament to your character and ability to shove it off and fix it and get back on the road/trail. On that note though, I really dig that trailer. You've appropriated that old bed into something pretty badass. Perhaps you should look into modifying the hitch with one of those ball mount covers that can't come off. I watched some dashcam vid from a police chase where a cop was trying to ram a stolen truck and trailer, and even though he tore the trailer up trying to PIT it to stop the truck, the mount never came off. If it could survive that sort of abuse, it could survive Alaskan roads and The Luck of Timmy.

Hey there Timmy,,,,,, you do know that you can adjust that friction-cup in the Hitch, so you get a snug-fit on the Ball, and it also looks like you forgot to put-in your retaining pin in that Hitch lever up top, also don't forget to grease that Ball once in awhile....... :-) BD in Alaska,,,,,,

On this 20,000lb hitch you can't adjust the cup (there's no nut to adjust it). Had a 2 inch ball and it needed a 2 & 5/16 inch ball.

did I miss the part where you finished the new flatbed and mounted the cabin? Would have been interesting to see how you managed to make it sturdy and secure. Now with the flatbed you could actually build a cabin with full width in the bottom. :)

Exact same thing happened to me shock wise, turns out a microscopic amount of water made it past the seals and froze the seal up and then the rod wouldn't extend. Took it inside and it expanded after like an hour. Had that shock serviced cause I immediately had the same thought as you, she's blown. Turns out everything internal was fine, just that tiny amount of water can really screw you. Worth a look to save a good shock even if they are WE

I been there with a sled bed before. Didn’t realize what had happened and hit the brakes and the safety chain broke and the bitch rocketed under the truck, took out the abs sensor and was stuck so good under the truck had to winch it out with a come along. Not fun.
