That was the way to go to get to the ladder

There is a cave at the northern tip of the triangle shaped lake that leads to more of the map. (north-east of the Moorth Ruins site of grace). There is also a ladder you can take to another part of the map you haven;t been to. From Storehouse, First Floor grace take the elevator to the south. Go left at the burning boats (watch out for enemies) and there is a ladder that will lead to a stone coffin. Keep going south and down hill, and you'll come to the Darklight Catacombs. Go through the catacombs to enter another area of the map.... lots to explore 8)

From the great hall go across the bridge to the other side there will be a ladder to take it down
