a good way to find a leak is clean the trans housing really well and then spray althletes foot powder spray on the housing and the leak will be very apparent in the powder.

We had a transmission leak this summer too. we were up in maine about 300 miles from home. I found a hose connection that was a tiny bit loose so i snugged it up and the leak disappeared. I was happy. It then reappeared but much less fluid and then disappeared again. It never leaked more than 1/4 cup but i have no idea why it leaked. It may be when we motor sail and are heeled over it could be coming out a vent but i have 40 hours on it without a leak so we will see what happens next summer.

My least favorite troubleshooting is when it fixes itself before you can find it. Glad that it's fixed but wish you knew the cause
