I work for a road department and we lay a lot of pipe for our stormwater systems. That green line is on there for a reason. When you join two sections of pipe together, you want to line up the green lines. They don't have to be perfect but they should be close. If a contractor lays a culvert, we will fail it if the lines aren't lined up.

I'm digging away recently - hit this hard thing with the shovel less than 5" from the surface and think it is hard clay - nup it was the water pipe - thank goodness I wasn't very strong. Just goes to show, one never knows where 'they' are! Great job and hope you are not freezing up your way.

A little dirt in my coffee this morning is always a good thing... I guess it was good timing to find a drainage problem while the DP crew was on the job. I'm glad it was the water line that was accidentally hit, and not the overhead power line. Another unexpected video, and definitely worth watching. Good job guys!! 😎👍 Big thumbs up!!

Mike, got a question. Why didn't you dig up that pipe, lay a bigger one, then where they have the landscaped ditch, dig that deeper and wider, put down fabric and riprap, then reposition the landscape rocks to make mini water falls? Just wondered why , thats all.
