Pro tip Vince. When supergluing plastic you can sprinkle baking soda on the glued joint and it instantly dries into an unbelievably strong joint like an epoxy. It works great for all plastic. Keep it up mate. Good job.

As someone who also buys and repairs flea bay items, I always find it interesting to see what challenges you have come up with. Recycle, repurpose and re-use is the way to go. I hope this item stays out of the bin and goes to a charity shop where maybe a child who couldn’t afford a new one will get some fun out of it.

The best thing I've found to repair plastic like that is a soldering iron. Just hold it together and run the soldering iron along the seam. Just make sure to clean the tip of your iron really well afterwards or use a tip that you don't care about and don't solder with. It creates a much stronger joint than glue does.

When supergluing plastic like that, I usually cut the heads off a couple of matches and glue the sticks alongside the plastic for a bit of reinforcement.

Regarding the hot glue gun on the nose, my little boy was experimenting and got hot glue on his nice new carpet, it pretty much ruined it and nothing would get it out after it dried rock hard holding in the carpet fibres. Someone said heat it back up with a hairdryer and try to wipe it back out and i couldn't believe it but it worked. I know it sounds so obvious, but it never crossed my simple mind haha.

Isopropyl alcohol unsticks hot glue from most surfaces. Just pour a ample amount on it wait a bit and it can easily be pulled off.

one or probably more LED die and when power supply see that current reading is not ok it restart. Not a big problem if you have right kind of tools (you will need replacing LEDs and heater to resolder them), there should be a lot of videos on youtube where you can see what need to be done. It's easier tp buy and replace spare strips but it's also more expensive.

superglue doesnt work on nylon-plastic

here is hot glue what give strength, superglue is there just to hold everything together until hot-glue cool down. I personally use superglue only for that, keeping thins in wanted shape until other type of glue (usually some kind of epoxy resin, I hate hot glue) cure.
