Also, being constantly updated of all the things happening around us is overwhelming, and detaching is a coping mechanism which satiates us in the moment but renders one feeling like an island. And it’s also hard when we literally are corporeally bound to our bodies and feel disconnected from reality outside ourselves. There are a lot of factors contributing to this state but, ironically, you are not alone. You are valid in feeling this way. Give yourself grace to experience and process these emotions, and make steps to break down those barriers and remember the purpose of life is truly dependent on relationships and people. (Which, relationship w oneself does count, and cultivating your own space and love is more than valid.) But, mama, a life ahead of you…🫵

Okay / you didn’t ask for this. But here goes. I would suggest going sober (with the goal) of six months & see how your depression changes. Just from personal experience, my depression was so much worse & felt like it was multiplying when I was smoking & drinking. I would just suggest being outside more, being sober, & starting hobbies. I hate seeing you depressed but I also completely understand the feelings you talk about. Been there.
