I always use High in the mud, low for crawling; I figure the less tendency towards spin the better, in mud. Like putting a crazy-high gear ratio in a muscle car, then getting left in the dust by a grocery-getter because you can't get traction. By the way, you have the best Rancher 350 videos on KZbin; if I've already mentioned that in another comment, just take it as me being doubly thankful 😀

@@CAROLINARUTCUTTERZ I think I fixed my notification issue. For the 2WD/4WD, it looks like people are putting a couple extra rubber shims in the case, leaving it tight enough to spin 'em in the mud but allow slip during turns on land. TheHondaOutlaw has a video on doing it to a 300 like you have: "Honda 300 Fourtrax Front Differential Cheap Locker Install" is the title. I hate gear oil, so I'll probably end up paying my neighbor to do it. That smell becomes a part of your life, no matter how much you wash 😆
