When I went to college, I had a full ride to play football at the school but decided I just didn’t love ball that much. I went to the school, but just to study. Joining a frat was literally the last thing on my mind. Ended up going to a frat party one night and drinking with the brothers there. I had no idea they were brothers. I was just having a good time. I ended up getting invited to join the frat and I pledged. It was super fun and they took academics seriously, which I needed and liked. All the guys were super cool and I never once felt any sort of racism or prejudice. As a black guy, my brothers in my frat were the most genuine dudes (white dudes) I ever met. I’d recommend other black college men to join fraternities if they have a genuine relationship with the brothers. As long as your vouched for, it’s all love. Some of the best years of my life.
