I'm at the beginning and I gotta stop and tell you. Years ago, we were broke, I mean beyond broke. No food in the house, no tree, no nothing for my three kids. There was a knock at the door and it was the people from the angel tree project. They brought in bags and bags of food and gifts for my children, shoes, coats and so much more. I still can't talk about it without crying but because of the generosity of others, my kids had food in their belly, warm clothes and gifts. This is def. a worthy cause to help children that have no other. Ok, back to the video.

Yes this is the best channel on utube and this Christian family is awesome. I have bought Christmas for little children but the most touching Christmas I ever had was, when I use to visit a nursing home there was a lady who I got attached to. I was in a store shopping and I found a babydoll she was all rubber, perfect size and color. When I took it to her she said I can’t take care of no baby but she did keep it soon it was her baby and every one knew it. People brought pretty doll clothes to her her mind was slowly slipping. When she went to the dining room someone had to babysit. When she had to go to the hospital they would call the nursing home. Where is her baby and someone would go get it and this was her new life she was a new mother at 80 plus. Word got around and the staff knew to take care of her baby. She was buried with her baby. Of all this was my most memorable Christmas.

Pecan pie is tough pie for a new to baking cook and you were courageous to give it a try. I have done it once 45 yes ago, I cheat and buy pecan pies. Cosco makes good pies by the way. You need to temper the eggs. Google how to do it so you don't end up with scrambled eggs next go around. Also, in the future, look for a receipt for pecan bars they are easier and really yummy. Sweet potatoes pies are the bomb in my opinion. Tomato pie is savory main course. Favorite old-time dessert is Blackberry jam cake, but it is a very co.plex receipt. If it does not rise you have a British style pudding. I will have to in look for my grandma's receipt to send to the PO box with step by step directions and my phone number in case you have questions or hit a snag.

Happy Thanksgiving Merina! We have all had the eggs to scramble when adding them to hot butter, that's how we learn. You have to temper them by whisking in the hot butter a little at a time to the eggs in a bowl and not on the heat. Let the butter and sugar be the only thing heated on the stove. Enjoyed your video and your menu. I wish I was as organized as you are. Take care! 🍁😊🍁

UPDATE: My mom finished her last round of radiation on Wednesday and rung the bell! Praise Jesus! My mother in law has had to switch doctors and found out the first doctors messed up a lot. They did all the wrong testing and her biopsy came back saying "may or may not be cancerous" which is very odd and upset her new doctor. She jas found out it is grade 3 which means it is aggressive. She has an MRI tomorrow to find out more. For now her surgery looks like it will be a lumpectomy with revision instead of double mastectomy followed by chemo and radtiation. Please continue to pray. She is very nervous but we are thankful she lives with us and we can help along the way. Thank you all!

Merina, just use the pecan pie recipe on the back of the Karo syrup bottle. It's perfect every time. Off the top of my head it's 1C of Granulated sugar. 1C Light Karo Syrup, 3 eggs, 1 teaspoon Vanilla, 1/2 stick melted butter, 1C pecans. Mix everything except the pecans in a bowl. When it's well mixed, add the pecans. Bake for approximately 15 minutes on 400° then lower oven to 350° and bake for 30 more minutes. I love your joy and enthusiasm.

Merina, I’ve wanted to comment for the longest while but thought you might think me silly. I lost my best friend of 30 years a couple years ago, and forgive me I can’t remember exactly when because she was one of many-since 2017 I’ve lost my (ex) husband, several other good/best friends, several Aunts/Uncles, and my parents within a few months of each other. I’ve called them the grieving years, and not one died of Covid. Almost all were “sudden” deaths too, totally unexpected. Well to get to my true point-you look like you could be Luanna’s daughter to me! She never had children, but it’s helped me with the grief to see you and your awesome family. It’s like you popped on my feed one day when I was missing her terribly, as if God showed me you like a gift! The resemblance is striking but your love of Jesus kept me coming back and watching you guys making mobile mansions is just bonus! I want to give Shane a THE HUSBAND award, and you-you are like what I’d hope her daughter would’ve been like if she’d of had one and I can’t begin to explain all that means…but it’s like an all that and a bag of chips award! And lastly, I’d like to say thanks for sharing, for me it’s been a joy to watch! ❤

Making new recipes are fun and frustrating. This year I made a from scratch no bake cheesecake. Sounds simple right? 😂 Well, no! The cream cheese didn’t smooth out like I thought it should even at room temperature. It tasted ok but not light and fluffy like the jello ones do. It was a little clumpy. My sweet husband said it was great of course. As far as you being like all of us when you grow up, I feel that way about you sweet girl. I am 55! To peel eggs easily... before boiling take a spoon and tap the wide part of the egg. Lightly... til you hear a snap. That breaks the membrane. Then cook your eggs as usual the shells will literally slip right off. I also told Amanda Payne this and she went nuts. 😊

Shane, if you want really good cole slaw, get a bag of shredded cole slaw cabbage mix (usually where the bagged lettuce is found). Then get a jar of Marie’s Cole Slaw dressing, also found in the refrigerated vegetable section. Mix the cabbage and enough dressing to how you like it, either on the dry side (yuk) or a wetter mix. The large size container of dressing will be enough for two bags of shredded cabbage. I used to make it from scratch but this is so much easier and really delicious. It’s a sweet dressing but really flavorful.

You put the eggs in hot syrup and it cooked them. You mix the sugar and karo syrup, eggs and vanilla together in a bowll. Put the pecans in the pie plate and then pour the syrup on the pecans. As you bake the mixture the pecans will come to the top. There is nothing wrong with buying pecan pies from the store. You don't cook the sugar and karo. It all cooks while in the oven. Don't sell yourself short. You are an amazing mom and your children will have wonder memories as adults. You are a blessing to watch.

Not to toot my own horn lol but just to say you will learn as you go, and if you’re persistent, you will look back and say, wow, look how far I’ve come! same goes for cleaning, although I think a lot also has to do with kiddos growing up! 😊❤

Hi, Add salt to your water, when done Add ice cubes to cool eggs. Crack eggs real good and the shells will practically fall off. Almost 99% fool proof. Learned this from my food service manager at church.

We usually did just a couple gifts each of our kids when they were little. It’s actually harder to buy for them now that they’re older.

Tomato pie is the bomb!! It's usually best in summer. My favorite ever Thanksgiving dessert is pecan pie.
