If you were to make James May his dream sandwich, what would you include in your recipe? Lucy and Rachael made an attempt - fish fingers vs grilled cheese. Which one would come out on top?

I don't know, cheese is lovely, I eat it often with my grandad along with a few nice beers; however, my grandad despises melted cheese and I love it. As soon as we saw the fish finger sanga... we knew it was the winner. My grandad chuckled at the "if it doesn't stick to the roof of your mouth" comment from James, I couldn't believe how relatable it was. How can one Bloke be so eccentric to the point he smokes a pipe and refines the flavour of his own gin yet is still able to relate to those who work hard, play hard, and eat hard?

In 1978 my closest Chip Shop was a village, not in a village the village was called Chip Shop, not very near a larger village called Chillerton, neither of which had a chip shop! It was an 8 mile drive to an actual chip shop that closed by 7 pm. Needless to say we didn't go to chip shops very often. That said, my Dad grew our potatoes, my Mum cooked chips using a mix of pork and beef lard, and once in a while threw in a lump of dripping for added flavour. I don't remember ever eating fish fingers as a child, but we had the best chip butties on the planet. Now I live in a country that serves whole fish (mostly fresh water not salt water) grilled, doesn't sell fish fingers at all, makes bread that is a little too sweet, and thinks french fries from McD/KFC are chips. But I've lost 5 stones since moving here so... 😄
