As a former police officer myself. Joining the specials first and then transitioning into the regulars I can tell you this. 1 the toll it takes on you is immense. The level of scrutiny on you at all times is debilitating. You need to be held accountable yes. But when every decision is questioned from the prism of social media with individual bias then it’s an impossible task. Well done mate and hope you continue to get the support. Haven’t read your book. I will order it though :)

Only time I've had an encounter with the police is when i was slightly distracted and pulled out on a police car on my motorcycle (very UN-busy road) stopped, apologised and I was on my way. No harm done. People wonder why the cops target them, probably because you were gobbing off right away. 🤦♂️

Great channel Ben. Rebuild. Refocus. Re-use that wealth of knowledge. Think your journey is invaluable to emergency services staff who maybe don't recognise the signs they need to slow down and take time out. In high pressure roles....medics/cops/firecrew the jobs just keep rolling in and we forget to step back and assess how we are doing, how we are coping, how full the rucksack is.

Ben, I've enjoyed watching police interceptors and especially enjoyed the comradeship you had with little ben when you was both on patrol, but I've now watched every episode you have made on KZbin and I've even subscribed. the production of these videos are great, the content is great, but most of all your message of mental health, and real life stories is amazing. i too lost my mother very recently, completely out of the blue, i too know how much of a mental and emotional "kick in the bollocks" it is, and nothing can prepare you for it. But keep up the great work your now doing , and thankyou for the work / service you've done. STAY SAFE!

Do Probationers (Whoops! "Student Officers") still get trained to take prints the old fashioned way, or is just an NCALT package and half an hour playing on the Live Scan machine nowadays? If they do at least they no longer have to worry about trying to scrub the bloody ink out of the cuffs, elbows, sleeves or breast pockets of a white dress shirt 🤣 They don't know they're born I tell thee! 😉

Great videos. I am in road safety myself, it is really challenging for the mental health. I am studying narcisissm which helps me deal with some of these people. The amount of gaslighting police and volunteers is untrue. Of course they are innocent with all the evidence stacked up. It is madness out there. @@BenPearson1965 That's what always let's down the shift "Tackleberry" isn't it... But when young Wayne decamps from that nicked Golf GTi dressed in his Air Max 90s, and skinny-fit tracksuit, he's off like the clappers as Tackleberry is being smacked in the face by all the keys hanging from that titanium carabiner clipped to his vest l, his custom pouches bouncing around with every step, and the boots are so heavy that it feels like the soles are made out of cement...
