Just went with my adult daughter. Laughing at so many memories while making new ones to cherish. Nowhere like Disneyland at Christmastime.

I don't know how you stay interested in Disneyland after seeing Tokyo Disney. All the parks run by the Walt Disney Company are a mess - I can easily imagine Walt coming back to life and just sweeping everything they've done in the last 30 years out like so much garbage, whereas in Tokyo he would see exactly what he would expect 60 years of development after his death would produce (without his direct management of course). The Japanese company managing the Tokyo parks actually follow Walt's vision. The Disney company proper has long since abandoned it, and ironically turned everything into what Walt warned against in one of his greatest films Pinocchio ie. Pleasure Island.

You're way too kind to the creatives while laying all of the blame on the "executives" who only care about money. The creatives are even more to blame because they should know better. We don't expect anything more than bottom lines and red tape from management, but creatives should know the difference between a glorified pride parade where villains are heroes and vice versa in a jumbled mess with no compelling narrative, and the foundation substance that Disneyland once stood upon.
