Hey Sarah, I believe there’s a t-shirt that says “A bad day of bowling is better than a good day at work.” And you get to do it with the man you love most. Also, you’re almost up to 20K subscribers and you provide us fans with education and access to professional bowlers that no other channels provide. Finally, you’re an excellent bowler, period. Many of us wish we were as good as you!! Keep doing what you do girl and we’ll keep watching!

This channel is a hidden gem in the bowling realm. You are really doing a good job with your content. Jones might be my new favorite character on the PBA Tour this season. The back-to-back-to-back ball changes after consecutive 4-pins... Armchair quarterbacking here, but that might have been overkill. A bowler's worst enemy is overcomplicating the transition. Your carry percentage definitely seems higher when you get the ball to slow down and roll. Most of the stuff you switched too after the GB% never appeared to get into the roll and only extended the breakpoint. Flat 10 city.

You’re absolutely really good, dont be so hard on yourself when the circum were against you. The lanes started out 16:1 and low volume, which is basically cliffed alr. Definitely not built to hold up 8 games, and not for the way the guys rip up the lanes. Maybe some longer pins and practice bending the lane from deeper could help in similar situations going forward :) dont be dejected, you’re an incredible bowler, youll get there

Oh Sarah I feel bad for you, it’s not like you threw the ball awful it was the carry for you. I feel your frustration because that’s where I’m at these days. I can go through my whole arsenal and get to the pocket but not carry, I leave ten pins move leave four pins. The most frustrating part for me is I watch other bowlers throw the ball over the lane and score higher, house shots for me can be the worst because I have slower speed and lower rev rate so can’t play right in the dry because it goes high and moving in there is so much oil in the middle to go around and shape the ball to get carry. I recently drilled a weaker ball a Hustle RIP and I’m hoping it will blend that wet dry, it’s worth a try. I certainly understand where you’re coming from but you have a great game so hang in there you’ll find the right combination. Love your honesty, you’re so genuine. Sending a gift of carry in your upcoming tournaments, I’ll be cheering you on.

Some advice from an average league bowler...seeing everyone around you striking when you are not is frustrating, and frustration leads to bad decisions/bad shots. You can only control what you do. Keep your focus on your shots (and making spares), and good scores will follow. Enjoy all you videos!

I have the GB5 too, thought it would be my go to work horse, but its too damn early and flat tens all day, no carry. You look so bummed, and its heart breaking to watch. Please look at the big picture, you are bowling so much better than you were a year ago. You may not win against Eric but bowling with him is making you better for when you bowl in women's tournaments. He's your boyfriend, and he's one of the best in the world, don't pull him down, you go up. This will all pay off later bowling against women. I've only see a couple times a women beating the boys, Kelly Kulick and once at a local regional PBA tournament. Don't despair, you are getting way better. Eric can pay your entry fees into the next couple you bowl with him 😀

I know I'm apart of "the guys" and I'm on the higher rev side, but I tend to stray away from the pearls any time they blow up quickly, or just not enough volume. On "house", especially on the right side, pearl balls don't get down lane at all like they are supposed to. Any friction is immediate hook, and in the middle of the lane they don't see it enough, they shrink my window instead of helping. At least in Texas. There's houses that are different but I walk in knowing that. But learned the last few years Texas doesn't oil like other states anymore. I throw solids 90% of the time, they bleed off the dry spots and still try and pick up in the oil. Surface changes and house topography play a big factor, I just ball up and down. Lane shine even helps most of the time. Houses with early hook and/or flat in the middle, I ball way down to the Vibe/Hustle/Tundra type balls. Four Seasons in Alexandria, Louisiana is an example where I walk in throwing the Vibe/Tundra combo because of the amount of times I've bowled there, anything else is 10 pin city. Again my higher rev rate might be the reason that works but just giving some insight. You've seen me many times and even recorded my 300 at oil bowl for Longview doubles, throwing the Tour DynamX hooking the lane. I usually only see Eric at Nightmare doubles, give the homie a smooch for me lmao I hope this helps!
@EdisonZ06
@EdisonZ06 Ай бұрын
I agree with you about the solids over pearls for broken down house shots. I recently drilled a Hustle RIP and have only used it a couple times and it looks better than anything else for me and if the volume of oil is higher I have been using a Summit Assent and my carry has been much better. The pearls just get me in trouble on house. The only Pearl I could ever use on house and have good carry was the OG Zen because for me it didn’t over react in the dry.

I know how it feels to think you have something figured out only to have it ripped from you out of nowhere or get placed in a league where everyone seems to have an advantage. It can make you feel as if you arent good enough. It simply isnt true. Athletics, sports, hobbies whatever you want to call them, all have peaks and valleys - and a lot of in between. Your day will come when you are the dominant one and all of the hard work and effort will pay off. Stay strong in the hard moments and take note of what went right or wrong and adjust as best you can. You are a VERY knowledgeable (sp) bowler, kind and driven. Dont forget - you alsp have a great youtube channel going... Best of luck, keep the videos / content coming. Cheers!

Sarah, when you’re the caliber of bowler that you are, the game becomes less about mechanics and more about mastering the mental side. Remember, it’s all about mindset. You’re going to throw bad shots with good results, and good shots with bad results-that’s just part of the game. What truly defines us is how we handle those moments mentally. Stay positive, stay focused, and most importantly, enjoy what you do. The rest will fall into place naturally. Thank you for sharing your passion and content with all of us-it inspires more than you know!

Sarah, you are good. I know it can be frustrating when things aren't going your way and everything seems to not quite fix it. As a complete outside observer, I'd say you need to come up with a strategy that takes into account not just the lanes as they breakdown but also your throw and how to use what is left on the lanes combined with a good ball/layout. My suggestion is, instead of trying to throw it harder; find a weaker ball that reliably heads towards the pocket and match that up with your arm strength and what is left on the lanes. It will hurt less and you'll be able to throw it more consistently than trying to throw a ball with more strength. The Stealth and Black Widow Ghost seem, to me, to have a good look and something you can work with when you get into that situation.

When they get cliffed up like that its tough unless you can really open up your angles or throw it hard. I think going to a high diff symmetrical pearl would have been a great option in the later games when you moved left. The clean cover should get it through the fronts with a nice round hook window. Will have to make sure you get it to the right like you did on a few shots that left a 5 pin or 5-7 tho. Just looked to me like the hybrid stuff you threw saw it too early and stopped.

I'm a lower rev, one-hander 225-230 avg bowler and find that for the most part at any house shot tournament, I can't hold a candle to the high rev and/or 2-handers. But a lot of those guys/gals struggle on tougher conditions where accuracy is at a premium. Just a thought :)

Hey, it’s just my observation, but I’d say big picture you are a better bowler today than you were a year or two ago. A bad day, week, or year even, doesn’t define you or your journey. After game 1 the lanes broke down rather quickly and it looked like to me you were making the wrong move/moves. Lanes looked like they tightened up on you and you should've move right vise left and go straighter at the pocket. It also looked like once you got frustrated you started missing your mark both to the left and right. Remember it's not always a ball change you have to make, and the move isn't always to the left but sometimes to the right. Also, it can sometimes be hand position, rotation and ball speed that can fix wrap or flat 10 pins. As I was instructed if you're in the pocket and leaving (in the case of right-handed bowlers) 10 pins you need to look at your angle of attack going into the pocket, ball speed, hand position and rotation if that doesn't work then it's time for a ball change. As I like to tell my students always take what the lanes are giving you, sometimes that is high pocket, sometimes it's light pocket and other times it's Brooklyn for righties and New Jersey for lefties as in my case. Take the strikes as the lanes give you and make sure you cover your makeable spares and hope for the best on those pesky shpiltz. But whatever you do don't give up, work on your game practice, practice, practice, don't worry about what everyone else is doing you can only control what you're doing but not others. You did better than most the men, as the pros in all sports like to say you have to get over it and move forward and not think about or worry about what just happened. You gotta get it out of yer head and just move forward no matter how frustrating things may seem to get. Good luck in your next tournament and you have a good, safe and blessed rest of yer day.

Also agreed she got frustrated, and there were strikes to be had, even the bad games she still got some strikes, missing her mark and too many ball changes. Once in a Tourney I was leaving a lot of 10 pins, I needed a least 250 plus to make the cut, what I did was play for the light hit, shot 279. Also in my house there was a pair that I couldn't shoot 700 on as I couldn't carry the 10 so I moved back on the approach a little bit a that helped me to get a 700, also another move I would make was to move left a slow the ball down, I don't think that would have worked on this pattern.

Dont get down. You are learning. You realize your main issue...when the scores arent coming, dig into that puzzle. Forget the numbers -- solve the puzzle. How do you get the entry angle needed to take out those corner pins? Maybe its not using the conventional ball choice. Maybe its standing on your head..lol. Focus on that challenge and ignore the score. Bowl against the lanes...against your knowledge...against your past failures. Defeat those obstacles, and the results will come...but youll never achieve sustained success if your only measure of achievement is beating Eric, or a field of men....or women. Beat the puzzle...because you cant control anything else. You threw a friggin 290 the 1st game. Thats a GIANT win. You had that lane beat. Eric had 299. If all that matters is beating Eric, you will walk away from a 290 feeling negative...that will destroy your love of the sport...your appreciation of your own accomplishments. It will make having fun reliant on things you cant control. I hate seeing you upset...and ive been there. I was so hyper competitive...so focused on beating everyone...every game, i burned out. I realized why, way too late. I hope my thoughts dont come off as preachy or forward. I just want you to reach your potential, and get enjoyment out of the journey. You are so talented. You are competing with PROS. So, ya know....take what you want from my drivel....ignore it all...im rooting for you either way. I want to help anyway i can....

Also, you bowled a 290. How can you be unhappy with how you did? It isn’t reasonable that you can expect to compete with male bowlers at the highest level of competition. You are an amazing female bowler and my wife models her game off of yours.

ever thought to have Eric teach u 2 handed. it’s such a advantage. Don’t get me wrong you throw it nice. Just need more power. Nice 290 by the way. how many 300s does Eric have.

I'm not sure if this has a lot to do with anything, or if you may be physically able to do so, but it seems like you are "suitcasing" the ball. The further you move left with that release you need to either have you break point closer to you and further right on the lane, if that makes sense, so the ball has time to face up. On whatever yall were playing on there, you were right in the puddle and couldn't get the ball to read on the more direct shots. Like unto a cue ball spinning on a pool table, its just spinning until it hits another ball, or friction in our case, its getting too far down lane. Or, be more behind the ball with more forward roll so that the ball will read earlier and give you a more continuous motion, if you're going to be that direct. I speak on this because I began to have the same issue, I slowly started coming around the ball earlier and getting a lot of over/under reaction, no matter of what ball speed I used, I never seemed to get the right ball roll. I took some time off and took some slow motion videos and it was pretty clear for my game, compared to videos from earlier in the year. I hope this helps, hate to see you or anyone for that matter to be upset from bad ball reaction

Let me tell you. I bowled a 5 game sweeper on a sport shot. It was a train wreck. I never want to bowl again. I feel your pain $185 down the drain

Sarah, honestly it’s rare women can compete with the guys as, the good players have much higher rev rates. Looks like your repeating quite well, so when you get to compete again, against your own skill set, you’re going to be fine.

Sarah, I’m sure you know this. It’s hard to compete with a guy like Eric who just destroys the lanes. Putting him on basically a house shot is just not fair. But I thought you threw the ball very consistently. When you got a little more side roll on the ball you were able to slap out the 10 a little better.

I thought the 290 with the GB5 was going to set the tone. Sucks to watch you throw ball after ball and not carry. Maybe adding some different hand positions to your game to get some different shapes maybe beneficial. Lastly, a great step down from the gb5 for me is the scorpion low flare. Good luck. I’m going to go subscribe now. ✌🏾

This is her game in a nutshell. Pipe it up 10 on a fresh condition. If she has to get inside, that over the top release will never work.

How can you (or most anyone) expect to beat Eric scratch? Especially in 8 game total. If you aren't having fun just bowling without needing to win you may want to take a break. Sorry about your wrist. Hope it heals.

Sarah after watching your last couple videos where Eric was not there and watching the ones with Eric it's clear to me you need to stop bowling with Eric. You need to preserve your love for the game. I fully understand your struggle to stay with high Rev players. Play your game...keep the love for the game
