Mate if you use the Replay app in BeamNG you can drive in first person to record(so you can actually drive well) and then watch(and record etc) the replay after in full detail, can even slow time down to 46 times or whatever, and free cam to get some awesome shots and see the carnage better from the crashes, But it would mainly make it better to watch as a viewer instead of just 3rd person, You get proper replay camera angles say like dirt rally etc. Just an idea :)

My first, and as of yet only, experience with RWD rallying was in a mildly modified pick-up truck, and over the course of a few days I'd gotten rather confident in its ability to handle despite the poor weight distribution. Then, then came a road with inconsistent gravel. Traction was gone, which I expect, but then the front tires found all the grip in the world and the back tires didn't. The next thing I remember was crawling out of the back window as water came into the cab. Thankfully, it was a shallow ditch. Hurt like *hell.*

not really, even without pacenotes, you can get yourself around the track without many problems. but, having a 'non-rally car' there is all sorts of wrong, road tyres won't grip as much, you won't have a stiffer body, so geometry will be "all sorts of messed", and thats even before you get to the brakes and suspension setup...

Press Shift-Alt-U and add the 'Navagator' UI app and you will have an alternative to pace notes. I am hoping to release the first part of my rally mod today. It is a really mental route of dirt roads on a generated terrain. Scary all the time. For a serious rally attempt try the Hirochi Sunburst Rally car, use time trial mode and get a mod with rally stages. EDIT: It's available now. Lovtit.... I love BeamNG for stuff like this. You do it correctly too. Going for such slightly more realistic or proper stages unlike everyone else just doing childish and boring crashes and stuff. i would love a BeamMG straaam!! Just go through such stages and few hill climbs like you've done before all together. Would be a lot fun as it wouldn't be too serious like your usual racing stuff but make wouldn't be pathetic like everyone else's BeanMG content... And the best part - Please Lot's of Punterino Jimmer!

It's a steep learning curve but it is possible to play it with just a keyboard and beat the preset track records. I would recommend a 360 controller or something similar though, much more control, much more rewarding.

I did stage 1 in 2:05.34, Stage 2 in 1:55.48, Stage 3 in 2:11.40, Stage 4 in 2:08.49 and stage 5 in 3:44.76. Total time 12:05.47 Jimmy's times: Stage 1 in 2:08.10, Stage 2 in 1:53.49, Stage 3 in 2:07.83, Stage 4 in 2:13.74 and Stage 5 in 3:43.29 Total time: 12:06.36 Therefore I am 0.89 of a second faster than Jimmy Broadbent (in BeamNG Drive across 5 rally courses*)

And here they are... 02:01.96 - one little mistake (second try, because first corner syndrome) 01:49.75 - one tiny mistake (second try, because first corner syndrome) 02:02.29 - very careful run (and first try) 02:01.80 - Couldn't get the first corner right for life of me.... 03:30.97 - Such offroad adventure, those downhill braking zones with abs are so hard. it seems you need to feather the brake very very careful and slowdown with engine. Needless to say alot of big mistakes and bumps into things on this run. total 11:26.77 (if I calculated it right) With this much first corner syndrome, I will never buy forza. I shall stay in beamng.drive. also thanks for this, this was really fun.

Am I the only one thats actually better at driving in BeamNG rather than in other sims such as Assetto Corsa. In AC I cant even beat 90% AI and I keep spinning out or understeer of the track where as in BeamNG I easilly go around any track. My steering wheel is a G27.

You should really look at Rally Forest. It’s an absolutely beautiful map with many tight twisty turns lined with plenty of trees to break your fall. ;)
