Emily if you do a go fund me, I suggest you get the more permanent safe bed that will grow with him for years to come , as well as the travel version. I know we can raise enough $ for both very easily if you do the go fund me. I don't think you have any idea how much we all love you and your family. I think we can raise the $$ in just a few days. I know they are extremely expensive but remember you cannot put a price on your child's safety and if we can all help, please please let us help.

(Yes, I might have mixed in a bowl first, is there a food he likes more? I always eat "no sugar added" applesauce, it does get bland after while - maybe add a pinch of sweetener, the good sweetener, monk fruit) KNOW THIS - YES, WE WILL HELP YOU OUT, RIGHT PEOPLE??? YES.... THUMBS UP.!!!

Emily, maybe try something like PECS which are printed out pictures so a child can choose what they are wanting to communicate. Maybe Sawyer will get less frustrated if he can use pics for a while.

Being a nurse I find from experience with meds in apple sauce it’s best to mix all into about one spoonful then it’s done in one bite and it’s less of a fight to try and get a whole apple sauce in.

Cheyenne Lowry as a doctor who takes a lot of medication and who has children of my own, I agree, although it might be hard to put 5 capsules in one spoonful, but even a couple would be useful.

Squeeze out the apple sauce into the bowl, the break the medicine, then pour it into the pouch. If that doesn’t work I would say smoothie. Kids, even kids with disabilities LOVE smoothies

Please please talk to the safe bed company and get griffin the larger bed. So you don’t have to struggle to fund more than one as he grows!! I will support this cause as much as I am able and I know we have a good community here that would also! Secondly, have you tried yogurt in the pouches instead of apple sauce, to mix his meds in? Might be worth a shot Also

Sign language might hrlp you communicate with the boyd. You could do with 3 colored cards to tell thr kids to stop wait go traffic light system. Younger Kids do understand colours and pictures more. You doing so well big huge hugs to you all. You can look up cards to help with speech is what I mean 😊❤

From a pediatric neurology nurse: get a small medicine cup and put some applesauce in that and then add the sprinkles and stir it. Small amount so you know he will take it all.

Emily, can Griffin eat GoGurt? I am thinking maybe to try buying those and cut one in half and use one half and stand up the other half in a coffee cup to save for the next day dosage. But Im thinking to mix up the capsules in only a half of a GoGurt in a small bowl or cup and spoon feed that to Griffin with the mixture so that he doesn't have to down as much after he has eaten dinner. Or just use various youvurt

Know you pointed out some discolouration on your skin. It is probably melasma from pregnancy. It gets darker when you get a bit of sun. You need to try to treat hyperpigmentation although it's tough to do without using expensive lasers and stuff.

Mix his meds in a little bit of vanilla ice cream.my son took seizure meds until he was 5 and we had to put it in ice cream we just mixed it and fed it to him it worked perfectly.

I have a question and you may have already answered this. Is Griffin's doctor filling out the papers for the appeal. If the doctor(S) are not putting in why he needs it, etc, they will not pass it through. They don't take our word for it. It has to be the doctor saying. Just a thought anyway. My idea on the squeeze thing for his meds. Find something that has a lot of flavor, spicy whatever that he likes and try that. That should cover the taste of the med.

also RE griffin's medication if he works out the side ziper on those pouches you could try what we did for mathew dumped out the powder from the capsules melted it in a tiny bit of warm water to stop clumps squeazed the apple sauce out the bag int a bowl but keep the empty bag for in a minute tip the tablet liquid you made in with the apple sauce and before hand get some big syringes from your chemist (if you can't get any i'll go buy you some new ones they arrive sterile but for this purpose can be washed and re used suck the apple sauce into the syringe and squirt it back into the apple sauce pouch (best way we found to refill it down that narrow neck then give to griffin its his usual apple sauce packet so he shouldn't refuse it he wont be able to rip open the side because the pouch the sauce comes in has no zipper sorry this is so long i hope you see it as it worked a treat for us pm me if you need anymore medicine hiding tips lol i've had to learn to be a medicine ninja xD

I am so frustrated for you that insurance isn’t paying for things that Griffin needs. Have you tried to mixed the medicine in water and used a liquid medicine syringe to squirt it into his mouth. I have had to use a syringe to get my son to drink water when he was sick and very dehydrated, because the hospital didn’t want to give him an IV.

Have you thought of going down the media route Emily regarding Griffin’s bed? You know we’d all help with a GoFundMe but I’m with you..Id this is happening to you, imagine the thousands of other parents it’s happening to. It’s just not right. You don’t need this additional stress right now, but I wonder if contacting a few people higher up, & writing to some newspapers might get things rolling. Regarding Griffin, have you thought of emptying his meds all onto one spoon with a big dollop of yoghurt or apple sauce, mixing it on the spoon so it’s combined (a stick of some kind? Cocktail stick? You guys call them tooth picks don’t you?) & then getting him to swallow that spoonful? I wonder if it would be easier on both of you if you done it in one full swoop rather than mixing it in a big pouch & potentially him missing some of it. Can he eat yoghurt? I can’t remember if you said or not. I know you can get little pots, so I wonder if dumping the meds in one of the tiny ones & stirring to feed him would work better? They’re only about 2 mouthfuls. Just a few suggestions my lovely. ❤️ xx

please can you not film your kids for your YT channel. Can they consent to this? No. Do you know how are they going to feel about this as adults? No. Is this going to stay on the Internet forever? Yes. Film yourself and do whatever. Kids shoul not have a camera in their faces for money. Oh you are doing it to help other parents? Professionals do that. YT will ban all family vloggers soon because in my line of work - law on childrens rights - we cannot alow this. In case of doubt of how or if it will negatively impact any of the kids filmed by parents that show daily routines etc. we choose the conservative route, in favour of children, always.
