Honestly, this result is about what I expected. The interceptions were a nice surprise, and you did a good job moving the ball on the ground for the most part, but even with the steady improvement each year, the Bulls are simply not in a place where you can go into the most hostile stadiums in the country and beat a Top 10 program. I like the idea of challenging yourself with Power 4 teams, but getting blown out every year doesn't help the players' development or the program in any way, whereas beating a school like Auburn, Iowa, or Stanford is going to raise Buffalo's profile even if they're not a playoff-caliber opponent. Cajuste is not an *awful* tight end on paper, and it's not like you have anyone better on the roster; Teel (who I would like to see play more often) has similar Hands ratings but runs sloppier routes and is a very poor blocker. It's just that his role needs to be minimized. He had more drops today than most guys had *targets*; last game against JMU you ran that awful TE Screen that never works like three times. Dude should pretty much never be your first look. Something else worth noting: EJ has to stop putting the football on the ground. He fumbles a LOT, usually when hit from behind. It's not the only reason Buffalo lost today, but it's a worrying and noticeable trend. If you're gonna scramble with him, you've gotta be more decisive in breaking the pocket-- he doesn't have Anthony Richardson speed, so you've gotta make that calculation early and commit to it.
@otonamehmonday-jerumeh50405 күн бұрын
It because Buffalo irl has a deal with big ten schools to play them once a year
@lukascastor34145 күн бұрын
Didn’t know that. If so, keeping a B1G school on the schedule is a nice, realistic touch. But even in that case, Cane should be attacking schools like Purdue, Northwestern, and Michigan State rather than Ohio State.

Huge tip for future reference when scouting kickers and punters: GEM/BUST does not matter whatsoever. I've seen 3 star busts with accuracy+power in the low 80s. I've also seen gems with kicking ratings in the mid-low 70s (sometimes even high 60s). Those gems are often designated as such because of their other ratings like speed, accel, and throwing for some reason. Try your best to ignore the flashing lights and go for the guys with good kicking ratings. Maybe we can grab a guy that can make 52 yarders this season 😅
@frankfort3323 күн бұрын
Gems are never normal dev and have a higher chance of the 2 highest dev traits. Busts are usually the lowest dev in my experience. I agree for just going for pure ratings for kickers though, I've tried for higher dev kickers and they barely develop even if they're gems

Carruthers has been lockdown so far this season. Ohio State basically avoided throwing his way like the plague. The second he went down with injury and reagor was playing his side of the field they abused him. Gotta sure up the soft MOF and get that other boundary corner spot settled. Do those two things and this defense is looking a lot better.

Yup. Cane said "The final score doesn't tell the whole story" and that's true, but not in the way he meant it; if Sayin doesn't throw those picks and the kicker doesn't miss his early field goal, this is something like a 61-14 beatdown.

It was the sort of game where you needed to be mistake free and take advantage of some OSU mistakes. You had both of those working until the 4th. You had the bad 2nd and 1 play, and then Cajuste just ganked that catch. You hung in there though. If you get the full recruiting class, this team is going to be full of 4-star players, and you will be able to compete with top 25 programs better.

Cajuste was the first domino. Cane, buddy I love ya, but I gotta bring some realism here. The game was over at 49-24. That last 3 minute TD deceives what actually happened. Ohio St. DOMINATED the 2nd half. They put up 35 points to Buffalo’s 10. The 2nd quarter was the Buckeyes worst performance and probably the Bulls best. And the difference was one TD heading into halftime. Ohio St. talent is still leaps and bounds over Buffalo. And that’s ok. I think, playing Michigan or Wisconsin next season, we’ll see a win over a B1G program

Are you still using placement passing? Also, you put great touch/height on your deep balls. Did you find it hard to get that consistently when first starting to play this game. I think I gently touch the button but it gets no height. And a lot of times it gets intercepted because it is thrown way short with no height on the throw

@christiankell60746 күн бұрын
I would like to see you use some other tight ends, at least to give them a chance to grow into the system. I would also like to see less blitzing on defense and have more 4-3 zone to help with stopping the run. The DB's seem to be holding down the fort but the front 7 need a bit more help. Lampman is going to lead the team in tackles if the front 7 can't learn to contain more upfront. Check your defense for the best block shedding versus athleticism and see if that helps. Love the series and really enjoy your videos, you are the goat in my mind with how you play the games, both football and baseball. LETS GO BULLS!!!!!!!!!

Listen there were some positives for this game but it was never close and was never going to be close. You cant be saying its a close game when your giving up 9.2 yard a carry and i dunno how many yards per play it was for Ohio state. One of the reasons the Bulls were ever in the game was the two dumb ints from the Ohio state QB, If you take away those they prolly score on both those drives like they were doing before that. The Oline is way better and seems to beable to run block really well against a top 10 team ill give you that. But Pass blocking seems lacking still. Also the Defense is still terrible 1150 yard given up in the first two games is YIKES.

25:48 Then DON'T throw him the football. We all know who Cajuste is, and he's NOT the guy. If you're going to have second thoughts whenever targeting Cajuste, that will lead to hesitation and more QB pressures. Regardless of his ratings, we need to see other players filling that role at TE1 now. Why not see what we've got at the position instead of sticking with the most anti-clutch TE I've ever seen in one of your series?
@deathminder92066 күн бұрын
