Just in case people don’t know, These are not the same as normal claw machines. Traditional claw machines ( as long as they’re not rigged ) have a skill based component, but gambling laws ( including Las Vegas ) only permit games of chance. The outcome of the game is decided as soon as you “spin” to select the prize. The machine will adjust the parameters on the claw strength, or keep “randomly” dropping out right before they get to the end for entertainment purposes. If it falls, You weren’t going to win it anyway.

There is no skill (other than aim) in a regular claw game as well. They have predetermined payouts for when the claw has high strength grab

While some claw machines (especially newer ones) can be set to win at certain times (just like big prize games at arcades such as Stack Up or the key in lock games) many older machines and some newer have a set strength and the outcome is only determined by aim and skill. Some people are definitely better than others at claw machines. It’s not as simple as a a slot machine payout such as this casino game.

If you pause at 1:30 and go frame by frame, you can clearly see the claw changing positions and opening just enough to let the ball out. Pretty subtle, but definitely shady shit!

Just a suggestion for you Matt. Since we all know the claw machine has a payout rate. The best thing to do is get ball that are more open and not surrounded by anything. Also stuff close to the price shoot. That way you have a better shot of it either swinging in or falling in when the claw moves.

You should grab balls close to the drop box. If the ball drops as the claw is swinging, the ball could accidentally fall into the drop box. The further the ball has to travel, the better the chances of it falling

When you do it try to drop the claw in a spot where it only has to travel one way back to the box. So either pick something that’s straight ahead or directly to the right of the box. Screw the middle cause it looks like it shakes it free

Doing this many in a row on recorded video lets you see - The claw has 2 modes. Grab mode and Loose mode. The actuator that controls the grip goes up into the claw body more when it's in Stiff mode so there's a visible indication. In Loose mode you'll never ever get a ball fully into the win box because of how much the claw is designed to dangle, flail and jolt. These claw games have a perceived "fair chance" attraction since it's mechanical, but it's designed to take money not give.

Unless you are playing with $10 or more tokens, I don't see a coin push machine that uses actual coins making anything close to what a slot machine makes. Now that I think about it, there has been a Konami slot machine for about a decade where the bonus round incorporates a video coin push round to determine how much you will win for the bonus.
