I don't know why I never thought of building fills that way, but it makes so much sense. Great riff and video! I love seeing your song building process.

I was just thinking the same thing. It seems so much easier and organized to break it up rather than trying to play one long fill in one take.
@MaddMag11 ай бұрын
Yeah, or even just auditioning different fills with logics take folder. Gives you a chance to hear them in the larger context and explore

You sir have quickly become my current favourite guitarist. Just discovered you and portraits recently and your entire songwriting process has become a huge influence to me as an upcoming producer/composer. Your videos are a blessing!

Awesome piece, always impressed by your production speed and how elegantly you chase an idea without getting too sidetracked

Love this Josh! The end result was spectacular, and as someone else mentioned, writing guitar parts using chords with fills is not something I've thought to do. 🤘🤘

Amazing man, so nice to see your process
@HoaPierre11 ай бұрын
yeah man, nice, funny take, really can tell u're not used to that tuning cuz you made it sound like a song that would be written in standard tuning, at least that was my first thought, love it tho
@cyrnoz180311 ай бұрын
Haven't tried yet but the first voicings might not be playable in standard. Also the idea of this kind of process is not necessarly to come up with a "open tuning" song, but rather compose something without relying on the paterns yiu know on the instrument
@JoshuaDeLaVictoria11 ай бұрын
That’s funny! I’ll have to try some different tunings. Not sure how to get an “open tuning” sound I guess. I was using a bunch of open strings in the chords and lines 😁

Other than Grove Bass, was this made using base Logic? I don’t think I saw anything other add ons. Really curious as I’m on the ledge to buy Logic

This sounded so sick, its so impressive you can play immediately what you write. I find I need to practice quite a bit so I have to punch it in initially. Also rest in piece 4:3 aspect ratio, you will be missed ❤
