I highly respect anyone who knows they don’t want to have kids. Also, it’s not about being too old to have kids(I mean it IS a legitimate concern) but how long you’ll be alive to enjoy them & share their lives. I was 32 when I had my 1st which was FINE, but I think of my sister who started in her early 20’s & I do get a little jealous. There are valid arguments for being a young parent, older parent, or completely childless. The beauty is we have CHOICE & OPTIONS (unless of course you live in a state that doesn’t recognize women as sentient & only see us as breeding chattel)

You could try making Pillsbury Pumpkin Quick Bread. It's really good and I get it to make every year. Really easy to throw together. Maybe you could do a few brands and rate which one is the best. There's Libby's, Krusteaz, and Great Value for a generic brand and maybe Trader Joe's has one too. They should all take around the same time to bake and fit in the oven together. You can get disposable bread baking tins at the dollar store. It's something Joe could do too since it's not a fast food thing. Since it would be too much to eat in a few days, after you're done you can slice them, wrap them up, and toss them in the freezer until you feel like having a slice.

Yeah, that's the 'scam'. The charities are legitimate...ish depending on the very specific charity some are basically money laundering like the Trump charities but most are at least trying to do good, but the money goes to the company and then the charitable contribution comes from the company so they get the write off. It isn't really a big deal imo, but I prefer to choose my charities myself with some quick research on like Charity Navigator and donate directly rather than on a whim at a drive thru with no clue about the org.

Regarding those “ask for a donation” things at stores and restaurants, the money doesn’t go back to the corporation per se, but if you donate through them, they are the ones who get the tax write off from the donation and can add it to their total for yearly, charitable donations. It’s kind of smarmy if you ask me. 🥴
