(I'm not an english speaker so I hope this is understandable.) This song literally says that humans, tend to create problems, enemies, complicated stories, putting themselves in bad situations as if they need to put obstacles in their way to feel like they are doing something. It talks about a generalized apathy that can create real dangerous situations for people. For example, in one verse, it talks about a person who, due to boredom, gets lost in a city one night and meets a drug dealer, a "dream maker who will come and offer a semblance of light just before sinking". It also talks about those people who destroy themselves in vain and too complicated love stories that only succeed in making them suffer. People who fall into addictions to sex, to alcohol... It speaks about people who dream without giving themselves the means to succeed in realizing them and blame the sky. Etc, etc... But there is no malice towards people, it is simply said without hatred, without judgment. Here is an extract of an interview of the group from 2008 that talks about this song: "This text evokes idleness, melancholy, boredom, the relationship with emptiness... But in spite of all that, it is said with a certain tenderness, a sweetness. You can say terrible things but you say it with a touch of sweetness."
