Affordable housing is getting a multimillion-dollar boost in Wake County with the groundbreaking of Tryon Station in Garner. This $6.65 million investment by Wake County, supported by an additional $750,000 from the Town of Garner, demonstrates a significant commitment to creating equitable housing opportunities for families in the area.
The project will deliver 176 affordable rental units serving households earning up to 60% of the Area Median Income. This means families of four making less than $73,380 annually will have access to quality affordable housing.

Morgan Mansa, Deputy Director of Wake County’s Housing Affordability and Community Revitalization Department
Mark Perlman, Equitable Housing and Community Development Division Director, Wake County Housing Affordability and Community Revitalization
