Thank you for talking about it. It’s nice to know my favorite creators are critical thinkers not only in porn games but also in politics.

I listened to the pod while driving and came just to watch the explosion. Ngl, based on the audio experience, I was fully convinced that the lacroix was erupting like a geyser. It is absolutely hilarious that I came all the way here to see that it was just some burpy little bubbles.

Surreal to hear y’all talk about the fires in the same way I talk about the 2020 fires in Oregon. The sense that “climate change is here already” hit me so hard 4.5 years ago that my whole life pivoted to climate advocacy.

I immediately have to jump in and say the mythbusters did an episode about what factors in the coke and mentos cause that reaction and it wasn't only the texture of the mentos it was some of the specific chemicals in coke, so it doesn't work the same way with sparkling water or other sodas, the reaction (as seen) isn't as intense

As a fan from the beginning of buzzfuzz, hearing Keith and Miles talk about witnessing the growth of their children is so special. I love hearing their tidbits on the little ones and getting to experience even just a fraction of them being parents. Their children are so blessed not only with their parents but with the whole 2nd try community ❤

@@RebekahFinley I don't follow any right-wing accounts (I follow a lot of popular left-wing KZbinrs even) and I've stopped using KZbin shorts when I want to scroll bc I always end up with a lot of right-wing / manosphere / Joe Rogan-y recommendations. I agree with the Advice segment. Miles is right - condition your body hair. It just feels better. (I am a cis lady, I definitely condition my body hair every week or so. I don’t like to shave because I get wicked razor burn no matter what I do, so conditioning fixes the annoyance of course hair without causing me to itch for days.)

Chemist coming here with the background behind the Mentos/La Croix experiment: So the reason that Coca Cola and Mentos react so violently is because the candy has a very rough surface. When you combine the two, that surface interacts with CO2 in the beverage and as a result, all of those reactions in those small sites congregate together to give that huge eruption! Because Mentos gum does not have a rough surface, there are less of those sites for this reaction to occur, hence why there was a much less vigorous reaction. However, the surface isn't perfectly smooth so hence why they did see something happen. I haven't tried pure Mentos + La Croix, but I'd certainly be curious! Would make for an easier clean up afterwards haha.

A water softener works with an ion exchange resin that's charged with table salt. So when you've got calcium and magnesium ions in the water, those ions exchange with sodium. A lot of services will take a depleted cartridge and recharge it by soaking it in brine and put it back in service. The magnesium and calcium can then be dumped. But the sodium in the water is what feels so slick. Apparently some might offer to use a potassium ion exchange system, but that's more expensive. Potassium feels less slippery. Water softeners aren't really the best way to reduce hard water. Reverse osmosis is much better, but it's more expensive and requires that a lot of water be dumped (although it might be possible to store that water for landscaping). It might be reasonable for drinking water, but it's a lot of water to be wasted for just household water consumption like flushing toilets or doing laundry. The US Navy, other navies, and large civilian vessels use reverse osmosis to make fresh water from seawater. There isn't as big an issue with waste because they're taking seawater and then just releasing the waste back into the sea. They're not taking water that's already safe to drink and use and dumping it. I never did got a water softener, but I previously owned a house that had some of the nastiest local well water as a water source. Hard water got on everything, and there was a distinct line of crusty hard water deposits in the toilet bowls.

the mentos gum experiment brought me so much joy. thank you but 1) no sharks in the coliseum 2) using conditioner on your body runs the risk of clogging pores. But you do you. It shouldn't dry anything out unless you are using really awful conditioner that is also drying out your hair... some brands even have sold a shower body lotion that you are meant to apply and rinse off. I think that's right up Miles' alley.

You know what interesting is as Zach is talking about how his shorts go Theo to Rogan to conspiracy theories, as a middle age white woman mine does not make this connection ever. It reminds me of a couple who posted a video comparing a the comments that are highlighted on the same video. The woman saw the “how are you attack this woman” comments as top comments and the man saw the “fuck this woman” comments as the top comments. The algorithm is feeding us division, rage fuels this particular beast. Even as liberal as Zach, his algorithm is still trying to consume him with that side. While as a moderate liberal mine often feeds me far left leaning videos. Just my opinion, observation, thoughts.

Wow, i disagree about the actors yelling at people being justified. its NEVER professional or acceptable to raise your voice at coworkers at a place of work. I don't care how rich and famous a person is they are not "heros" for exerting power over others on set, that is a blatant abuse of power and verbally abusive to the staff.
@benhillard919
@benhillard919 5 күн бұрын
I personally think never is a little too black and white in this case. In the Tom Cruise situation I think it was like three to six people and they come out in the entire film shut down which could have put the rest of the behind the stage crew, the onstage cast, the editors, etc either out of a job or on hold for quite a while. And those people aren't paid if they're not working so then they'd be missing paychecks or the paychecks would definitely be affected to some degree. On the Christian Bale thing, I've heard that the person who was yelled at had been a kind of dick the entire morning. The better solution would have just been to fire all the problem people in both situations but I think there might be some issues with doing that cuz I think they're all Union workers with iatse (which is a good thing). More than it is. I don't think they were being abusive. I think these cases are people being angry about people not acting the way they should.
@ogga
@ogga 4 күн бұрын
@@benhillard919 Your first point about Tom Cruise: they can just fire people who are not doing their job well-abusing them should not be step 1. Also, they could have just told them nicely, and then if their work ethic didn't improve, then they could fire them. Simple as that, no need to yell. About Christian Bale, he was way out of line and unprofessional. Two wrongs don't make a right. if that guy was being a dick then they should have told him to go home, then spoke to him about it like professional adults and then if he didn’t fix his behavior then they should fire him. again verbal abuse should not be step 1. the solution is simple. sit them down and talk to them calmly and rationally like adults… I don’t know why men never think of that as an option, it always has to be violence or extreme behavior first. if talking about it doesn't fix the problem then fire them because they aren't performing their job correctly, they’re causing problems and acting unprofessionally which is a perfectly justifiable reason to fire someone. yelling at someone angrily when you are in a position of power above them is always “abuse” I don’t care what the reason is, there’s no good reason for that to happen.
