My recollection of the Bardney branch it left the main line just beyond Monksdyke crossing, and turned to the right ,this was the first crossing upon leaving Louth. This line went through Wragby to terminate at Bardney. The name of the crossing box was Monksdyke and this controlled the junction.

If only it was all still there, how different the area would be.

One of the blokes on the train looks like an axe murderer and that Trafford Stores van gets everywhere.

At 17.40 the signal box was a smaller ground single height on the left of the track, not on the right. The crossing keeper cut my hair in there!

Are you running 32 bit or 64 bit, I've not driven on the north lincs since the last big update so I don't know if mines broken or not.

If this line closed in 1960, how can you possibly blame Beeching for it. It would be another two years before Beeching became proactive in his plans to decimate the rail network. In 1950 he had only just then joined the railway industry

The line from Louth to Mabelthorpe closed first, the line south from Mabelthorpe rejoining the mainline at Firsby closed in 1970, I was a child and took one of the last trains from Mabelthorpe, changing at Firsby to catch the London bound train from Grimsby. The line from Firsby to Boston is still there as a single track branch running to Skegness, the remains of the trackbed north from Firsby to Louth is still pretty much intact and would not take much to reinstate the line to Louth if the will were there

There is one error. The signal box marked as Wragby Junction is wrong. It was actually called Mablethorpe junction and was situated on Stewton Lane Louth. It is where the line from Louth branched off towards Mablethorpe. There are many photos of the signal box in the Mablethorpe Memories group on Facebook.

Hi Anna When I created the line, I decided to put in the Wragby Junction signal box, which closed in the 1920s. Mablethorpe Junction Signal box is further south, and originally was on the western side of the main line close to the junction, but was later moved to Stewton Lane where it could operate the level crossings. Hope that helps. John

By the way Anna, I'm not denying there are errors on the route, but research is somewhat haphazard as far as photos and maps are concerned. If there are any corrections you can make for me, I would be very pleased to incorporate them in the next remeased version. Best wishes, John
