thanks a bunch for making this video!! this has been the only tutorial i've been able to follow fully, i do have a bit of a problem though as when i check the cc in cas it looks as though there are cracks in the sims body from the clothes? mainly on the stomach. i would really appreciate it if you know how to fix it!

hi! im glad i could help. i'm guessing you're talking about there being a gap or line at the waist? that is due to the vertices of the body in your conversion not matching perfectly with the in-game body. here are my guesses at what could be causing it: 1. you're using a broken pregnancy morph. i know there's a specific preg morph reference out there that is notorious for leaving a gap at the waist (i cant remember exactly who it's from) try using a regular reference mesh for the morphs in meshtoolkit and see if that fixes it. also try using different bone references too to see of that's the problem. 2. there's something wrong with the body template in blender. if youve been using the ones from modthesims, try exporting a nude mesh from tsrw (as a .obj) and use that as the body template in blender. You could have also moved the body by accident when converting. if these didn't work or you need more clarification, you can send me a pic of it over on my tumblr!

no problem!! If the texture from the top is showing up on the body (i think that's what you're referring to?) then it probably just means you have to go back and change the placement of your texture in photoshop. Try baking the body (if you haven't already), import it into photoshop, and see if the texture touches any of the light grey parts round the neck. If it does, then just move the texture so it's not in the light grey area of the bake anymore. if you're still having trouble then you can DM me a pic of it on my tumblr!

hi by any chance you could make a tutorial on giving clothes with embellishments like belts proper morphs? usually they get really wonky with the fat morph

I would but I have absolutely zero experience with 3D belts n such lol. Normally with things like that i just assign bones like I normally would.

I'm trying to select the body part by pressing L but the whole sleeve gets selected. How do you just select the hand because L isn't working for me so easily Edit> For the cardigan I had to cut around the edges then select mesh-edge-edge split and then click L over the faces to select and delete. Very tedious and painful lol! It's a great tutorial I'm just so new. I got lost with my diffuser in ps, the blouse underneath is black and the blazer is grey. do I turn the blouse grey too? Maybe I have to start again with a different mesh

I'm struggling with this too! I think it's because that part of the mesh isn't an object on the body, but is instead "painted on".

I have a question, when I try to make the piece of clothing fit the sims 3 model, it moves the whole top instead of the vertice that I selected. I've followed your tutorial step by step and I didn't want to change anything by myself before I broke anything xD

hi sorry for the late reply! you've probably figured this out by now but it's most likely that your selection circle is too big. Turn on proportional editing, press G, then scroll your mouse wheel forwards until you can physically see the circle around the vertice. Sometimes it glitches out and you have to scroll for a really long time until you see the circle.

i was in blender deleting the sims 4 body pressed L and it selected part of the pants so i pressed crtl+z to undo. After that the pants weren't visible anymore. I still saw like a black outline of them but the pants were gone. I tried to undo that as well, i just closed out blender and restart and that was fine the second time around. i wasn't working aswell so i was just wondering if you know how to fix that.

It's because you accidentally switched from texture to wire frame (it happens when you press shift + z I think). You can switch it back with the dropdown menu that's near the object/edit/rendered modes dropdown. It's happens to me constantly and it's super annoying :/

lol i do, but only for those subscribed to one of my patreon tiers. i normally hate doing requests since it sorta starts to feel like a school assignment that i have to do if you get what i mean. Having it as a patreon perk makes it so my time spent converting is at least somewhat compensated. anyways tho the version of blender i'm using is 2.76 (i think i mentioned that in the google doc). @@nite0sphere Yeah I totally get it. I rewatched your video and downloaded the correct version. The dress still ended up looking like a thick, suede blanket and the sim didn’t have a body, only a head and feet. Angry words were said. I’m taking a break from this project indefinitely 😂
