9:29 when ruby is talking about that whole suicidal culture it's more ironically than a flex because they were blamed for years for talking about suicidal things and that it will influence a lot of people to do bad things but surprisingly it helped a lot of people to see that they were not alone and it brought more positive than negative. You will see lot of fans saying that they couldn't make it without them and their music and it's the same for the boys, without music they are saying themselves that they couldn't make it through life. Edit : and also at every shows, Scrim make a speech about the fact that they are grateful forever to their fans and also telling them that they are not alone and if they need help, they have to ask for help.

Love that you're getting exposed to the boys. Just wanna clarify for you since you're new to them, when they discuss drugs in anything post 2018 they are talking about past actions/addictions/urges, they are both clean except Ruby still smokes weed. In my opinion, their best album is the one right after they both went to rehab- Stop Staring at the Shadows. It's a no skip for me, fucking love that album. People tend to say their older stuff is better, but in reality it's just far more raw and emotional, which is a good thing, but I love them clean and healthy now. I highly recommend checking out older stuff like 'High Tide' and 'My Liver will Handle what my Heart Can't' just to have a perspective on their older side and what they were dealing with mentally and emotionally, their best work pre rehab might be 'Eternal Grey' honestly. And the term Grey comes from a group/gang in New Orleans from their youth, basically saying color doesn't matter and life isn't black and white, you can watch the podcast they did with Theo Von and they explain it a little more. The Boys have a lot of lore and history to them if you can't tell lol. I just watched them live last week when they kicked off their tour in Nashville, 3rd year in a row for me, loved them since 2016 and I'm happy to see someone else get exposed. Keep up the great vids, sorry for the long comment just wanted to assist.

They say grey a lot because its a reference to their record label they own Grey 59... 59 is a highway in New Orleans that separates blacks and whites and Grey is to symbolize both coming together and not seeing color... im glad you're giving them a fair shot and i can tell you're genuinely catching the deep messages and the funny ones too lol... you dont have to come from addiction or deep depression to hear the talent and understand their music... their old music was ALOT more angry and depressing but its more hopeful now with old style mixed in... scrim does a speech at the end of every show telling people to go get help and that therapy and rehab is a good thing and people shouldn't be ashamed to get help... the deeper you dive into the music the more you'll like it and understand where they came from ❤

The first one singing is Ruby and the other one is $crim. So basically in that interview he talks about highway 59 being the highway that splits the city they are from and that they have been on that rode many times and that 59 is also police code for criminal mischief. Grey represents the area they grew up in scrim describes it as not gang related but like two brother hoods of the East and west side and that they wanted grey to be the color because it’s neutral.

Eventually you should react to both of their solo albums $crims has 2 albums “man rose from the dead” and his new one “Lonely Boy” they are both hip hop similar to this one and ruby had 2 albums as well “tragic love songs to study to vol 5” and “existential hymns for the average sigma vol 9” unlike $crim rubys albums are both sound like an early 2000 rock. For rubys solo his username is DUCKBOY and for scrim its just $crim

There's alot that goes into the meaning of grey 59 but in new Orleans there's a highway call highway 59 that basically separates the backs and whites so grey is like the mixing of white and black basically like fuck racism we are all the same theirs more to the meaning but those are imo the main ones

Also they are now both sober scrim for 5 years ruby about 3/4 so when they talk about drug use its not from what they do now but what they used to do they also are very aware of how influential they can be so in every show they have scrim gives a speech about drug abuse and how they got thru it and all that it's very compelling tbh

Yo that's the company I was referring to fs. I first saw one when Colion Noir reviewed it. I was skeptical of seeking one out, but the collector in me has been feening for one😂
