Those who don't have a strong music-oriented imagination will never understand this masterpiece. AR rahman doesn't just randomly put things together if they sound good. when he writes these, he takes you on a journey. The entire song is actually extremely, extremely symbolic in some form or the other, if you have watched and understood Tamasha. In my opinion, I'm imagining how the heart of the main character has changed over time.
