The song was written by Eugene Pottier of Paris Commune. Back in the early 70s, US-China was engaged in normalization in relationship. A member of American delegate told Premier Zhou Enlai "It seems Paris Commune was dead 100 years ago." Zhou answered "It seems you reached that conclusion too early."

@@rentablesyrop6896 Nah. We need to look beyond the surface. The world wars were started because of the overcapacity of industrialisation under capitalism. Fascism and what not appeared for a reason. It is not subjected to human will. It is subjected to the economic base. The infamous 100 million death under communism thing probably comes from the black book of communism. Yet they count Nazi deaths as "victims of communism", civilian deaths of the vietnam war started by the US as "victims of communism", lower fertility rates as "victims of communism" and so on. If we use the same standard to the US or capitalism in general, the death toll will be much much higher than just 100 million. Under global capitalism, all economic activities are driven by profit. Dispite having enough food (agricultural) production, millions of people in the third world die of starvation, while tons of food were thrown into the rubbish bin in the "developed world". That is because it is not profitable for capitalist corporations to feed the poor. Instead, it is more profitable to overexploit the third world. Also, with the endless war and political instability in the third world supported by the US to maintain the status quo, how many people do you think it killed?

Secondly, all countries develop at their own pace, there is no standard for how long "you're supposed to be" doing this unless you view the world from a Western/ Anglo-centric point of view (which is frankly pathetic and self-flagellating coming from a Korean like you). Thankfully, China has managed to rise above the terrible system of imperialism to become a world power today that is now challenging the now old, withering Western empires.
