TSLABUS Skoolie Conversion #6: Enabling 6th Gear on Allison 3000 Transmission (Part 1)

Would this work on an Allison 2500 transmission? They are 6 speed as well, but only 5 speeds available in a school bus.

It should, but I would do research just to be sure.

Allison 2000s built in the second half of 2006 or later can be re-flashed to enable 6th. Prior to that, they need a valve body upgrade before they can be re-flashed.

@@nicksevers07 my understanding is the 2500 has same reflash requirements as 2000 series, just has to be new enough to already have the upgraded valve body from factory or you have to do it first.

I have a school bus with that transmission and I’m having trouble finding someone to reflash the TCM. Do you have and recommendations on who to have perform that for me? Thanks

@@sanJiu-un8qq Bus model doesn't really matter, I've had a couple of IH 3800's that had the 3060 and currently have one in my RE300, they are about the best trans you can find for a bus or RV in the slush box flavor.
