What a great tutorial on what can seem a very complex area! I'm not sure what you're studying but if it's teaching you'll do fantastically. Great video

Some great ideas in here! I knew about these functions and uses, but didn’t know about some of the sources. Clearly I need to read the documentation closer :) Thanks Penguin!

Thought I'd drop a comment to let anyone scrolling know that your content is fantastic! I'm not much of a gold maker but since I started watching your videos and chatting on discord I've gone from ~500k to 2mil in a month! Thanks for the great content Penguin!

that's huge, I don't expect to say on which server but that sounds pretty nuts even on full realm specifically, you must craft tmog and legendaries right :D
@olidvr77992 жыл бұрын
@@petardinjo No transmog or legendaries, I was too late to get into the legendary market. My strategy was to diversify, get into a bunch of different markets with high sale rate and cancel scan every 30mins or so. I'm WFH so that helps :D

Congrats on 66 mil.. last time I was checking your video it was 45 and not that long time ago.. you are literally owning this game.. either hard work or perfect server to play on with people who constantly buys something.

Great explanation of the functional logic of the TSM addon. I was just thinking "Can you nest the functions so it can look at the avg inside of a if function." Then bam Penguin explains the nesting perfectly. Thank you for the extremely informational video.

Great work! I would also appreciate if you get TSM crafting list order explained in that fashion - personally I don't get what's the difference between Crafting(profitable), AH(crafting)? and get a suggestion what order you should use it to have crafting on 4 characters with the cheapest method in mind keep all the good work! cheer's
@Penguinr2gt2 жыл бұрын
Hey yea! If you want a video tutorial, this link should take you to an explanation at around at 15:40 mark kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3u0qGeLqdNmhLc But to give you a text explanation - craft(profitable) is crafting the item instead of buying off the AH, so lets say you need Enchanted Lightless Silk, if you have stock and using two lightless + 1 soul dust ends up being cheaper than buying the final product off the AH, it will suggest to do that method AH(crafting) are intermediate crafts that TSM can calculate, so lets say you need heavy desolate leather, TSM will check to see if buying normal desolate leather to then craft into heavy is cheaper than just buying heavy. If so, it will suggest you to do that The rule of thumb is to have Craft(profitable), then Ah(crafting), then AH from top to bottom. You can do whatever you want with vendor, alts, guild banks, etc. but having Craft(profitable) above AH(crafting) which is above AH is the optimal setup.

Can anyone tell me why crafting cost show wrong amount?
@Penguinr2gt2 жыл бұрын
Crafting Cost is determined by the min() source showed in the first example, so it uses Dbmarket for items off the AH, which is the 2 week avg, not the actual current price as TSM does not update instantaneously

Amazing content. I was thinking about this myself. Instead of selling at dumb max price (this happens a lot with toys) I could have used something like max(400% crafting, dbminbuyout). Example: atomic recalibrator was selling for 6k and crafting cost is ~1k, my old setting make me lose 2k potential profit because 400% crafting = 4k is way less than dbminbuyout = 6k. I was just forcing the toy price to go down :/ Sadly I just found you content later...
@Penguinr2gt3 ай бұрын
Im glad the video was helpful! I wouldnt recommend using minbuyout in your strings, I would replace that with dbrecent (a newer source) or dbmarket! but yea, Max strings are super helpful!

I have to be honest, the best gold I have ever made was abusing other peoples TSM. During legion I was churning out sandstone vials like crazy. I built up a buttload of gold between that and some other things I was doing, then I found out we had a whole guild on my server that did nothing but play the AH, mostly with TSM. I dropped 2mil gold buying out every sandstone drake on the AH, and relisted half of them at 5x the price I paid. As is usual, the braindead few making them listed them 1c under mine. After a month of listing them so high they had only deflated in the new value very little. So Now I listed 5 at half the new market price I made. Instantly sold. /giggle At this point I delisted all of them and relisted them at this new price, and they all sold, literally as I listed them. Almost doubled my money. Since then I have done this with other things as well. I have probably made over 40 million gold exploiting TSM users.

Great video. But I am still so confused. You do a great job of explaining things, my brain just doesn’t seem to be able to wrap itself around the information. I joined your discord the other day, I think I am just gonna import your settings and hope for the best. I have watched your vids as well as other beginner TSM guides. I just can’t seem to get it. I followed along with your last video and, ya, I suck at this.

It’s okay! TSM is confusing, I’ve been using TSM since legion and still am learning new stuff, it’s not meant to come easy! Don’t hesitate to ask questions! Discord is always open for additional help or anything. And yes feel free to use the free resources, just make sure you do watch the video about them! Good luck Ian!

@@Penguinr2gt I do have 3 questions tho. 1) Do you have to switch any settings depending on which toon you are using and their professions? 2) How does the AH work with TSM? 3) When I get items that TSM offers to “Destroy” them. What should I do, settings? Also when I do hit destroy (for me) it only destroys the first item. The rest I always have to do manually. Maybe these questions are good ideas for your next TSM video?🤔
@Penguinr2gt2 жыл бұрын
@@GeneralofGodsEarthlyArmy Hey! I can answer these questions for you right now! 1. I do not switch any main settings, I do have multiple profiles but that is simply just for organization purposes - for example instead of having one profile with a ton of groups involving shadowlands, transmog, pets, old world, etc. I like to separate them into profiles, so pets are in one, old world is in another, so on 2. TSM basically just allows you to semi-automate your AH experience alot faster, you can post/cancel auctions alot faster than by hand/with the default AH and you can utilize the TSM sources to give you an upper hand, depending on what exactly you are looking at I can go more in depth 3. By default, the TSM destroy menu will come up whenever theres an item that is able to be destroyed (destroyed simply means disenchanted, milled or prospected)... when this menu comes up it is not saying you SHOULD do it, just saying you can. You can go into your TSM settings to toggle off this option of it always showing up, then whenever you need it, you can type /tsm destroy to get the window back up. Since full automation is against TOS, TSM will only destroy one item at time, so if you have alot queued that you want to destroy (you are shuffling or something), you will either have to click multiple times or use your scroll macro (you can set this up in your tsm macro settings) but either way, you are either clicking or destroying
