Did you see Imp cry? References aside, just wow... this is not even an upset anymore. LGD is looking like a wildcard team at this point in terms of strength. Everybody is tilting like Titanic and falling apart. Credits to TSM and especially Bjergsen tho, he carried unbelievably hard this game. I think the biggest reason (and mistake) is that they fired their coach who was instrumental in allowing them to win LPL Summer. LGD is also weak in BO1s/BO2s but somehow do very well in BO5s, and they've adapted to 5.18 poorly. They're just not getting the chance to show their strengths back in LPL since everything is just going against their way. Anyway, it's clear that LPL's 1st seed won't even be making out of groups, unless they get blessed by C9 and somehow win all their remaining games and the tie-breaker, but with their performance right now, that is looking impossible.

It's all the decision making stuff where TSM kinda falls flat on its face. Am I the only one that sees Acorn throwing the game? He literally got caught out multiple times mid to late game. MULTIPLE TIMES. Instead of being in the heart of his team where he can help stifle the other team's movements, he's off dicking around at the flank by himself. If he just stayed by Kalista's side to help protect her, this game would have had a huge difference in its outcome. Shame on Acorn for his poor positioning. You make a comp like that, then take LULU out on her own from the team instead of being Kalista's shadow. That's so mind boggling to watch. Clearly the game plan was that Diana and Nunu would go in. Diana would use her E to draw in Darius and Morde to herself, as well as anyone else in range, then Nunu would activate Absolute Zero. From there, Lulu would most likely ultimate Diana for additional CC, if needed, or hold it for Kalista if anyone broke through Diana and Nunu's CC combination while also providing covering fire with Q spam and polymorphing anyone that got too close. Instead, Acorn tried to fucking flank on his own, causing him to get caught a few times at MID TO LATE game. Just...ugh. Its so sad to see such seemingly high leveled players make such horrible mistakes. The comp was fine, but the execution by Acorn was lacking.

LGD is known for not being that good at BO1's. This past split in the LPL they barely made the playoffs and they got to face EDG in the semis where they beat them. Im sure LGD will show up but not sure if they have a chance to make it out of groups...

Spoiler.... Its really shocking to see LGD underperform this way. Some people might say, they really are not consistent enough to deserve the high praise they were getting but they beat EDG and won the Summer split in China. You can't discount that effort by them but I do think that the pressure to perform at Worlds is affecting them. Some teams have stepped up like Origen but others like LGD and IG for instance have simply collapsed under the strain of performing. GodV has looked bad lets be honest. Teleports haven't been on sync, neither has his play been that good either. And yet again TBQ is the focal point of how bad of a jungler he is. Such a liability. As for TSM, really nice win on their part even though they nearly gave up a 10k gold lead. They still closed it out and their early game was much better. Hopefully they can use this as motivation and take their game to a new level.

+Dias Benes imp's pride is a big deal in why they are not doing well. He pressures lane constantly and goes in for every kill. Very useful when TBQ watches the lane to protect imp's back from collapses, which happened in China finals. Devastating when communication in team is nonexistent. This game's first dragon fight says it all. LGD supp and mid trying to 1v5 one after the other, with no backup from the team...WTF! adcs are simply too vulnerable to play past a razor thin line of aggressiveness. His 1v4 on Kog against Origen, his disrespect of collapse against KT in lane, all indicate a reluctance to trust his team and wait for higher percentage plays. Even in this game during team-fights he constantly pushes into the middle of the carries instead of kiting around in an arc...It is ok to miss a couple autos if one can survive.
