Yeah plat players aren't technically bad if you're comparing them to rookies, but if you face a masters+ player, they can toy with you so easily. Plat players can usually aim ok and get basic concepts, but y'all don't take high ground, use cover, engage properly, etc. There's definitely a lot you can work on if you can't get out of plat 4.

so, hall is not wrong, hes just being realistic, they are asking them to guess what rank those people are, not what rank they belong, hall is just being real and telling what rank they should be. a lot of players in these clips play with premade (you can hear the comms) so even if they are bad, they are basically getting boosted, the ones on console have an easier time ranking up so even a silver could make it to diamond on console (nothing to do with controller/aim assist, its just easier on console due to the number of casuals compared to PC/mixed lobbies that are just sweaty players), and thats whats he's referring, he's not "being a prick" as other ppl say, he's just being honest, this cryssy girl for example, thats not a diamond player at all, plat at best (unless they are showing a really bad clip of her which i think its the opposite here)

At minimum you need semi-competent teammates. Having two derp-heads as teammates only gets you to Plat, max.

Thats the problem with the rank system rewarding playtime over skill. A more responsive, quicker ranking system that values consistent levels of play would be more accurate and also way more fun. Something similar to rocket league. Tbh this is the only big problem I have with apex. You have to grind so hard at every reset. Its pretty stupid.
