It adds to the quality of the program to have background and transition music provided by an orchestra and not an organ. "Tony" was played by Frank Lovejoy who would have his own radio program, "Night Beat," in two years (1950). This was another high quality episode of "Box 13" with the capable Alan Ladd.

Lovejoy's voice is unmistakable... he played a terrific bad guy/good guy with a heart!

I remember in the 50's Ladd was discussed about for being short?? Sooo silly! That would not be an issue today n he was soooo handsome plus being a great Actor!!

I thought I had listened to at least a sampling of most old time radio shows, this one is new to me and I thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Box 13 was one of the very best I think because Ladd had such a convincing voice.

I really like the old time radio detective shows, but they all have one thing in common. The detectives are always being surprised by the bad guys. You would think after a dozen times they would be more aware.
