I think you should forgive your parents. I think most of it they're protecting you. You could've regret marrying your wife and divorce her because she's a divorcee. I would try to talk my son/daughters out of it too because marrying someone who already has a past comes with a lot of baggage. There are so many people who wished they didn't and it's already too late.

Don’t be so harsh and mad at your parents. They were looking out in your best interest. Imagine if it didn’t work out, you would be living in regrets and upset at your parents for not stopping you. This is exactly my story by then in the 80s. My parents and my husband’s parents didn’t like us getting married too. So we ran away too but we both are very much in-love and we both are single.
