Gyalwa Dokhampa Shedrub Nyima, the 9th Khamtrul Rinpoche (b. 1982), is an outstanding teacher of the younger generation of masters from the Drukpa Kagyü tradition. He will teach on the profound meditation instructions of Mahamudra by using a short text by Pema Karpo, the 4th Gyalwang Drukpa, entitled A Record of Mahamudra Instructions. Mahamudra is a simple, direct method for looking beyond our conceptual dualistic fixation to the unchanging, luminous nature of our minds.
Khamtrul Rinpoche’s exceptional presence, and the peace and compassion he transmits, create the perfect environment to receive these profound teachings.
He will also be accompanied by two tokden monks-Tokden Achö and Tokden Tutop Nyima-who will both lead guided meditation sessions. Tokdens, literally meaning ‘realised ones’, are yogic practitioners who devote their whole lives to retreat and meditation practice. This extraordinary lineage of practice and realisation was established by the previous Khamtrul Rinpoches in Eastern Tibet and continues unbroken to this day.
