Just got out of the classroom for the final hour today, so I'm feeling this combination of relief and a bit energized because my students were fun today. Was a bit busy this morning, so I only got a glimpse of the vlog... time for an in depth look now. Okay... let's get this one out of the way immediately... It takes an immense amount of trust to let a girl who has never swung a bat in her life take her first hacks next to a Mercedes wagon... I applaud you, sir! I saw that the vlog started a breakfast and Steve was in the middle of creating penne with your aunt's homemade pesto. You guys are stepping out to a different tune for breakfast. Not everybody on the block has to have an omlette or scrambled eggs to start an extraordinary day... The coffee was nixed in favor of something a little stronger and more flavorful. That was standing up, grabbing breakfast by the horns, punching it squarely in the nose, and eating it with a big, old smile. I had to laugh since Pudra's attempts at reading written Tagalog are much like my muddling tries at reading Bisaya. I relate to that soooo much. Sounds like you all get yelled at by Mudra in Tagalog. With us... it's a solid Bisaya roasting. Love that you're going to a ballgame. It doesn't matter if your team is down in the dumps or at the top of the standings. Just going to the ballpark makes you feel like a kid again (hearing James Earl Jones' speech from Field of Dreams in my head right now). I hope Alodia enjoys the experience... the sights, sounds, and smells of the ballpark. If you are anything like me, going to the ballpark is truly a special experience. It's part of who I am.. the little kid who gets completely fired up when he passes through the turnstiles and smells the popcorn and hot dogs... and gets even more excited with the cracks of bats and the sounds of the organ. To share that with someone else... Hey, they get to be a kid with you. That's a moment that can live on! And this last little thing. I learn how to live life by watching your family and the way they laugh. Hitting a medical bill with a bat! That was priceless! Despite the seriousness of the situation, you took the time to take some swings at the bill and just enjoy the moment. Gosh, we all could stand to see something like this when times get a little tougher in our lives. Again... thanks for putting it out there. We all can learn from what we see... Keep on keepin' on.
